This world is not my home, my mansion in heaven waits My Shepherd leads the way towards the pearly gates Through valleys filled with enemies God’s favor on me rests Teaching me eternal truths and how they manifest I will fear no evil with God’s Presence at my side In paths of righteousness I’ll follow, with Him as my guide Through every circumstance I learn of His provisions God’s Word providing light for myriad decisions There are other pathways that tempt with strange allure When earthly passions lead, the dangers are obscure Until I’m caught in bondage it might seem the way to go My Shepherd seeks me out, delivering me from woe I need to persevere and choose to do God’s will Untold riches and rewards God will then fulfill I decide to live in faith of His promises to me Until I’m finally home where I’ll spend eternity Debbie Furey December 16, 2022 Psalm 23:5-6 – “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
