Lord, shine Your lamp in me, to light the darkest place Only those with a pure heart will stand before Your face Who may ascend the hill on which Your glory dwells? Those who seek Your ways, and reject the paths of hell No one lights a lamp and then hides it in a jar They put it on a stand so it can be seen from afar There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed God sends forth His light so all can be exposed Search my heart, O God, with Your holy light When the testing comes may I be found shining in the night A burning lamp that leads the way, to Your holy hill If I follow carefully, my destiny I’ll fulfill Debbie Furey July 2, 2021 Psalm 24:3–4 – “Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? 4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.” Psalm 139:23-24 – “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Jeremiah 17:9-10 – “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? 10 “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” Luke 11:33–36 Luke 8:16-18 2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” God dwells in dimensions we know nothing about. When He looks at a person, He does not just see the outward form but can see into the soul and spirit of a person. God does not judge by outward appearance but by what is in each person’s heart. Even we cannot truly know what is in our own heart because it is deceitful. That is why we need to ask the Lord to search our hearts and to reveal to us the things that are hidden deep inside. God allows things to happen to us that reveals what we might not be aware of. Then we can deal with what He shows us. He is looking for our response
