You extend mercy like a river, ever-flowing, free Your Son’s blood paid the price on a hill at Calvary There, all my judgments were nailed with Him on a tree My forgiveness was bought by the One who died for me
Jesus descended into hell, death’s keys to acquire He who descended is the One who ascended higher Jesus led captives in His train and gave gifts to men He wants us to occupy until He returns again
We must live a life worthy of the calling we’ve received He sends the Holy Spirit to those who have believed As we walk in holiness and love His power He’ll impart He gives forgiveness and salvation to every willing heart
Debbie Furey December 28, 2022 Ephesians 4:7-10 – “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. 8 This is why it says: ‘When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men.’ 9 (What does ‘he ascended’ mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? 10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)” Isaiah 55:6-7 – “Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.”
1 Timothy 1:12-16 – “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. 13 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. 14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 16 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.” Ephesians 4, 5 Isaiah 43, 55
