Clothe Me with Your Love

Oh Lord, I need Your love to clothe and fill my soul
Without it I’m so empty, come and make me whole
It is only by Your Spirit, Your perfect love comes down
To dress and clothe me when I ask, in a righteous gown

As I walk in steadfast faith, I choose Your righteous ways
To be prepared and ready during all my earthly days
Wash and cleanse me through Your Word, as I come to You
As I’m waiting in Your Presence–my attitude renew

I invite You, Holy Spirit, to come and live in me
Purify my thoughts and motives so I can be set free
Taking off my filthy rags, I look to You above
As You lead me in Your ways, and clothe me with Your love

Galatians 3:26–27 – “So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”

Zechariah 3:3–4 – Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. 4 The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”

2 Corinthians 5
Isaiah 61:10
Ephesians 5:25-27
Revelation 19:7–8

As sinful human beings we do not have the unconditional, divine love that God has. We are born selfish and self-centered and have to learn how not to be that way. God has an easier and better way. We can ask for His divine love to fill us, and we will see through His eyes and with His heart as He lives in us. Be prepared to be tested, because how will we know we have that kind of love unless a trial comes along?
