In my garden of delights, I sense Your Presence there The music of the fountain complements my prayer In the stillness of the morn, I wait for Your reply Your voice I long to hear and with peace You satisfy In the beauty of the garden, Your loving care I see Everything I need and long for–You put in there for me I must tend it carefully so the fruit can quickly grow Sending out a fragrance to reap and then bestow You are master of my garden and also of my heart Causing life to spring forth from each Word You now impart I’ll take each Word You send and plant them in my soul Producing a great harvest that’s vast and beautiful Debbie Furey May 28, 2022 Song of Songs 4:16 – “Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow on my garden, that its fragrance may spread everywhere. Let my beloved come into his garden and taste its choice fruits.” Ephesians 5: 23–27 – “For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” Song of Songs 4 Ephesians 5 In the Song of Songs chapter 4, the lover compares his beloved to a garden. The beloved then invites her lover into the garden so they can partake of the fruit together. What a beautiful picture of Jesus, our Bridegroom, and His Bride the church. It is a love story for the ages and we get to be a part of it, if we are the church. Do not neglect the invitation to be His Bride. He paid a great price for her with His blood that He shed on the cross.
