My heart is overflowing with gratitude and peace As I wait in Your Presence, I feel my joy increase An answer to my prayer has come, after long delay My thankful heart is searching, for right words to say You are looking to fulfill, each desire that You gave But first You search our hearts to see what other gods we crave All who worship other things will be put to shame You alone are worthy of the world’s acclaim Lord, You are exalted far above all earthly gods Delivering us from evil, against the steepest odds One day every knee will bow before Your throne in glory With each receiving Your rewards for their earthly story Debbie Furey May 15, 2022 Psalm 37:4 – “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Hebrews 11:6 – “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Psalm 97 Gratitude and peace can fill our heart because of answered prayer. They should also fill our heart as we wait in faith for prayers to be answered. Faith is believing without seeing as though it already exists. We must also believe that God rewards those who earnestly seek Him. That is why we can always have thankful hearts and peace in our soul regardless of what we see with our eyes happening around us.
