Remember, Remember

Remember the times you cried out to Me
In times of distress and in urgency
I didn’t fail you then and I will not now
Will you come to Me? To whom will you bow?

Do not look to man and put your trust there
They may fail you or create a hidden snare
Vain is the one who thinks they are in control
They think they’re in charge, but don’t know they’re a fool

Remember, remember, and do not forget
Your heart can have peace instead of regret
Put your trust in Me and have faith to the end
The plans that I have you can’t comprehend

Psalm 118:8-9 – “It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in humans. 9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.”

Psalm 146:2-3 – “I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
3 Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.”

Psalm 33:16-19 – “No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, 19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.”

Jeremiah 17:5-8 – “This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD. 6 That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes.
They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.
7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. 8 They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
