Do you know you hear God’s voice more than you realize?
Think of a time when somebody’s name came to your mind and then you found out later something good or bad had happened to them or maybe you might even run into them seemingly by chance. Or think of the time when you read a book or saw a movie and the presence of the Lord became so real to you. It almost seemed like the Lord was showing you something through that person or book.
As you read these poems, I hope and pray you hear the Lord’s voice speaking to you through them.
God says in His Word that those who seek Him will find Him when you search with for Him with all of your heart. He also says that His sheep hear His voice. So, when we meet with the Lord and pray, we should expect to hear from Him. Not necessarily audibly with our ears, but listen for a thought or an impression that doesn’t originate from your thoughts. That is how I get a lot of these poems. As I sit down and pray and talk with God, I also take the time to listen. Then I write down what I feel He is saying to me. That is why some of these poems are my thoughts, and some of them are what I feel the Lord is speaking to my heart. Some of the poems are a conversation between the two of us.
