Pointing the Finger

When you point out others sins to Me
Notice, pointing back to you are three
Look instead at your own heart
Lurking there the same sins start

Your fallen nature fights for control
Over your own heart you must have the rule
You cannot do this in your own power
The enemy waits for a soul to devour

I, the Lord, search your heart every day
Follow the Spirit to know My way
Great rewards are waiting for those
Who followed Me, and My ways chose

Jeremiah 17:9–10 – “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? 10 “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

Mark 7:20–23 – He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

Matthew 7:1–5

Search My Heart

Lord, shine Your lamp in me, to light the darkest place
Only those with a pure heart will stand before Your face
Who may ascend the hill on which Your glory dwells?
Those who seek Your ways, and reject the paths of hell

No one lights a lamp and then hides it in a jar
They put it on a stand so it can be seen from afar
There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed
God sends forth His light so all can be exposed

Search my heart, O God, with Your holy light
When the testing comes may I be found shining in the night
A burning lamp that leads the way, to Your holy hill
If I follow carefully, my destiny I’ll fulfill

Psalm 24:3–4 – “Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.”

Psalm 139:23-24 – “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Jeremiah 17:9-10 – “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? 10 “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

Luke 11:33–36
Luke 8:16-18

2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” God dwells in dimensions we know nothing about. When He looks at a person, He does not just see the outward form but can see into the soul and spirit of a person. God does not judge by outward appearance but by what is in each person’s heart. Even we cannot truly know what is in our own heart because it is deceitful. That is why we need to ask the Lord to search our hearts and to reveal to us the things that are hidden deep inside. God allows things to happen to us that reveals what we might not be aware of. Then we can deal with what He shows us. He is looking for our response

Sound of Rain

I hear the sound of an abundance of rain
The Holy Spirit is moving over the earth again
The book of Acts will resume over all the earth
Until everyone has heard of the sinner’s rebirth

God’s Spirit will move with miracles and signs
Accompanied with healings of bodies and minds
The light of God’s glory will be seen by all
Driving out darkness, on His church it will fall

This sound of rain can’t be heard by the ear
It comes from God’s Spirit beckoning us near
Its purpose is to water the earth with God’s glory
Saving souls and reclaiming man’s territory

Isaiah 60:1–3 – “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”

1 Kings 18:30-45
Isaiah 60
John 7:37-39

Do you hear the sound of the rain beginning?

Army Rising

Oh, Lord, I hear You calling, calling
Your grace and mercy falling, falling
I strain to hear throughout the night
When darkness tries to hide Your light

Those dwelling in the land of sorrow
Receive God’s light on the wings of morrow
As Your Word dawns across our land
Your army rises to take a stand

Dressed in armor shining bright
Brandishing weapons for the fight
Shrinking not from battle’s roar
Earths dark places to restore

Your army rising like the sun
Over sin and death, we’ll overcome
The wicked will be trampled down
For Your great glory and renown

Judges 3:1–2 – “These are the nations the LORD left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan 2 (he did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience)”

Romans 8:28–39
Isaiah 60
Malachi 4

Christian, do you hear the Lord calling you? Do you know that our enemy has declared war on us? Do you know that the Lord has equipped us for battle? Do you know He is teaching us to overcome? You should know these things. It’s in the Word of God.

Those Who Endure

Those who endure to the end will be saved
Whispers the One whose hands are engraved
There is a reason this life is so hard
It’s a test to see whose ways you regard

Some will fall short and lose their reward
Which way did you choose in times of discord?
Was love your aim to the unlovely and lost?
No matter the time, no matter the cost

Your actions speak louder than the words that you say
The test results show your love on full display
Hold on till the end so they don’t take your crown
I am coming for a bride in a spotless gown

Matthew 10:22 – “ You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”

Isaiah 49:16 – “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”

Ephesians 5:25–27 – “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.”

Revelation 3:7-12

Everything we do on this earth will matter for all of eternity. God will weigh every thought, word and action. When things get hard in my life, I find it helpful to remind myself, this is only a test.

Our Final Destination

Arriving or departing at the airport gate
Brings you through a portal that you navigate
It took much preparation just to get you there
So you could put your trust in a plane high in the air

You weren’t made with wings but you know that you can fly
In a plane so wondrous high up in the sky
You don’t know how it works, but you’ll put your trust in those
Who sit up in the cockpit and wear nice pilot’s clothes

This life is a journey that you navigate
When you come and you go you pass through a portal gate
Everything we go through prepares to get us there
Our final destination–to meet the Lord high in the air

We weren’t made with wings but we know that we can fly
When the Lord comes back for us, high up in the sky
We don’t know the day but we’ll put our trust in those
Who lead us in the way of righteousness and dress in love’s clothes

1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 – “According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.”

1 Thessalonians 4

As We Are Obedient

Glory and honor belong to You, Lord of army hosts
Praises from angelic choirs shakes the temple’s posts
Holy, holy are You Lord, seated on Your throne
Your glory fills the entire earth to make all Your ways known

Lord, Your deeds are known by all, repeat them in our day
Guide us by Your Holy Spirit so we don’t go astray
In the darkness of our time let Your glory shine
As we rebuild the ancient ruins with grace and mercy divine

Use us to proclaim Your glory over all the earth
So the lost can hear of Jesus and the new rebirth
The brokenhearted will be healed, the captives will be freed
As we are obedient to pray and intercede

Let us be Your heart that loves, Your hand that feeds the poor
In the midst of persecution may we shine, endure
Your light will drive out darkness with consuming fire
All who call upon Your Name Your mercy will acquire

Habakkuk 2:14 – “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”

Habakkuk 3:2 – “LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.”

Isaiah 6:1-8
Isaiah 61

Declare Victory

Nature stands ready to answer the call of the Lord
Angelic armies go forth with fierceness and drawn sword
God’s people are praying and speaking His Word
The prophets declare victory, have you not heard?

Answers come in response to our faith going out
For those who believe God’s Word and refuse to doubt
God is training us to battle unseen enemies above
To deliver from demonic forces the helpless in love

Lord, contend with those who contend with me
In the name of Jesus, the darkness must flee
Who is like you, oh Lord, who rescues the poor?
I will declare Your faithfulness forevermore

Job 38:22-23 – “Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail, 23 which I reserve for times of trouble, for days of war and battle?”

Psalm 34:7 – “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.”

Psalm 35

Remember This

When you eat this bread and drink this wine
You become a part of a plan divine
An ancient agreement written in Christ’s blood
One between man and God our righteous Judge

Remember this when you eat communion’s bread
Christ is alive, no longer buried, and dead
He paid the price for you and for me
Dying for our sins on Calvery’s cursed tree

Remember this when you drink communion’s wine
Christ’s blood was shed by purposeful design
Now we’re overcomers by the blood of the Lamb
Decreed righteous and forgiven by the great “I AM”

The blood, the blood, will never lose its power
Confess its protection any day or hour
Our enemy must flee like a receding flood
Anytime you mention Jesus’ atoning blood

1 Corinthians 11:23-26 – “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”

Revelation 12:10-11 – “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God, day and night, has been hurled down. 11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”

Matthew 26:17-30
John 6:32-59

Originally Designed

All life starts out with an explosion of joy
Your Father in heaven assigns girl or a boy
I then give gifts to each and everyone
That day on earth when new life has begun

Much spiritual warfare surrounds each new birth
Trying to destroy their God-given worth
Casualties can occur in body or in mind
That is not how they were originally designed

There are two fathers for each one that is born
No person is a mistake, there is not one that I mourn
I give each free will for good or for bad
Everybody has at least one good dad

All have sinned and fallen short of My glory
Leaving My family is part of their story
I sent My Son to gather them back to Me
He died in their place at Mount Calvary

Whoever believes this shall not perish but live
Whatever they have done I will fully forgive
This offer is open to all of mankind
Your salvation is what I originally designed

Psalm 139:13-16 – “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

John 3:3 – “Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
