Jealousy robs you of contentment and love
Vexing your spirit to roil and shove
Causing your eyes to see things differently
Bringing in spirits that promote hostility

Who can stand before this onslaught of hate?
It causes friends and family to separate
Waves of passion begin to roll upon the sand
Bringing much destruction upon this fair land

Walk in the Spirit and dress in Christ’s love
Be wise as a serpent, but harmless as a dove
Grow the fruit of the Spirit in patience and peace
In the garden of your life there will be much increase

Jealousy causes much want with your eyes
Leading to moments of despair and compromise
Stirrings of covetousness begin to arise
Thankfulness goes far away and then dies

Put on your armor to protect your heart
Learn the ways of the Lord and do not depart
Don’t let the enemy take any ground
Your reward will be great and will astound
