Trust must be earned but forgiveness is a choice
Our hearts must stay pure for us to hear God’s voice
The accuser of our souls teaches us to hate
He uses unforgiveness as his special bait

Everyone does what is right in their own eyes
All of us sin, from the foolish to the wise
We judge others for the same things that we do
If we don’t forgive them then we are guilty too

God is the righteous judge-let it in His hands
Search in His Word and do what He commands
The Lord is our example of love’s purest form
All that happens to us He is able to transform

Everything that happens to us God can then use
Both the good and the bad teaches us eternal truths
When we learn God’s ways and our evil ways forsake
We will be like Jesus when, in heaven, we awake
