Lord, may I pass each test, that is sent from You
With a thankful heart, knowing You foreknew
I don’t know the answers, so I hope and pray
Asking you for wisdom so I don’t disobey
Each test is a trial by fire meant to purify
Teaching us to love, and how to help self die
Lord, I ask for wisdom, to know what to do
So I can respond in faith and know what is true
Each test given out in school tells us where we stand
Showing us wrong answers, so we understand
At the end of life’s long course, when heaven will be won
I long to see my Saviors face and hear Him say, “Well done”

Luke 9:23–25 – Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?”
Romans 6:1–14
Matthew 25:14–30
Do you remember taking tests in school when you were young? It made you feel anxious and unsure of yourself. But they were necessary to see how well you understood what the course was teaching. Did you ever notice we remember more from our mistakes than we do when we get the answer right? It is because of the Lord’s grace that we get to take a test over and over again until we get it right. Sometimes when I am going through a trial, I think to myself, that this is only a test to see how much I have learned.
