The fear of the Lord will keep us from sin
In our walk with the Lord, it is the place to begin
Then wisdom will join us, and understanding to
Welcome them gratefully and ask them to guide you

No mortal comprehends the place where they dwell
They possess the power to deliver one from hell
They cannot be bought with the finest gold
The worth of them both is something to behold

From the Lord comes wisdom and understanding to
Ask and He will give them as a gift to you
They will lead the way to the fear of the Lord
To deliver you from evil and destruction’s horde

The fear of the Lord is greatly missing from society these days. But even sadder than that is the fact that it is missing from most Christian’s lives. It is listed over fifty times in the Bible, so it must be very important to God. Not only will the fear of the Lord help to keep us from sinning, but it leads us to the path of wisdom.
