Underneath Your Feet

Me:
Lord, let Your victory be total, let it be complete
Until all of Your enemies are underneath Your feet
The battle has been fierce in the heavenly realm above
Answering our prayers sent on the wings of Your dove

Lord:
I will make My enemies a footstool for My feet
They have rejected Me upon My mercy-seat
I gave them many chances to repent and be set free
However, they did not choose life, they did not choose Me

The battle is not over, do not leave your assigned post
I am teaching you to war alongside My heavenly host
I’ve given you authority to teach you how to reign
Many have been called, but only a few will obtain

This offer is for all to complete the earthly race
A victor’s crown for those who daily sought My face
As they gazed upon Me, they became what they beheld
By the power of My Spirit–their earthly life excelled

Psalm 110: 5-6 – “The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the day of his wrath. 6 He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.”

Psalm 94, 110
Isaiah 63:1-6

In this life, the Lord is teaching us to rule and reign with Him. I hear many Christians say, God is in control, and ultimately that is true. However, He gave mankind the earth to have dominion over. Under God’s direction He wants us to learn to rule and reign. We do not have true authority unless there are true consequences. Therefore, the results are not always what the Lord wanted them to be.
For example, in 2 Kings 13:14-19, the Lord directed King Jehoash to do a prophetic act spoken by the prophet Elisha. Because the king did not choose to consult the Lord how many times to strike the arrow on the ground, he failed the test. God wanted him to defeat all of his enemies, but because the king did not hear God’s voice, he did not gain total victory.
One day all of God’s enemies will be under His feet. The amazing fact is that He wants to share His victory with those of us who chose to do battle alongside of Him and were obedient to His leading. Many are called, but few are chosen. Do you hear Him calling? Will you be obedient?
