Beneath the misty moon a hooded figure stands alone
Breathing out deep curses waving skull and long thigh bone
Rising screams and incantations fill the cool night air
Releasing hordes of demons, out of stench-filled lair

Many hooded figures derive their power from a fast
Denying food and water to strengthen their spells cast
Spiritual weapons of war can be used by either side
Fasting used for good or evil can change the battle’s tide

Unsuspecting Christians sit contented and well fed
Not knowing of the battle and those who want them dead
The power of God’s light is greater than the night
What you do not know can cause you to lose the fight

Commanders of this world don’t send a gun against a tank
You must be obedient to your assignment in your rank
Our weapons are not worldly, but mighty with God’s power
Follow His direction to win the battle for this hour

There is an example in the Scriptures of an unholy fast in 1 Kings 21. Jezebel told city officials to proclaim a day of fasting and then to get two scoundrels to make false charges against an honorable person to steal his vineyard. Because there is much power in fasting her scheme worked against this righteous man, Naboth, who refused to sell his Godly inheritance.
Many years ago, I had a powerful dream that I knew was from the Lord. In this dream, my husband, Harvey, and I were lying on the side of a road. Since this was a dream, I seemed to be watching this happen from above. On the left side of us rose a big mountain with dirty snow on it. On the other side of us, coming down the road, was a troop of young people dressed in togas with the women having flowers in their hair. They were laughing and singing as they passed by us not really seeing us lying there. I recognized them as Christians, but didn’t know them. They made a turn to the left and went into a cave on the side of the mountain. They remained in there a short time and then came back out again weeping, mourning and carrying a dead person above their heads. Following behind them a short distance away was a hooded figure wearing a brown robe. I could not see his face, but I knew he was a Satanist and had caused this death. The funeral procession passed by Harvey and me on the road.
As the Satanist got beside my husband and me an ancient weapon appeared in his hands. If you saw the old movie, “The Pit and the Pendulum,” it was similar to that. At the end of a long pole was a curved blade. He held it above us and started swinging it slowly back and forth. With each swing the blade lowered closer and closer to us. At that point in the dream I awoke startled and said, “Lord what could this mean?” Immediately, in my thoughts, the words, “Unholy fast” appeared. I then knew this Satanist was fasting to kill Christians. I also understood that the Lord was showing me that I needed to go on a holy fast to counteract an unholy fast. He was showing me which weapon of warfare to use against these kinds of attacks. Their dress (togas) indicated to me that fasting has been used against Christians since ancient times and is still effective today. I will never forget this dream. It is as vivid as the night I got it.
