This world and the things we see will one day pass away
This life is not the end but a journey to that “Day”
Our bodies that we use are a temporary tent
That house our soul and spirit, which are permanent
How then should we live if this is really so?
Are earthly treasures to be sought as we live and grow?
What are the holy riches that we can gather now?
God’s Word will reveal true wealth we can gain-and how
God’s fire will test the quality of each man’s work that “Day”
If what he has built survives, he will receive great pay
One cannot reap a harvest if he does not sow
When one gives to God, eternal treasures He’ll bestow

1 Corinthians 3:12-15 – “If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.”
1 Corinthians 1:7-8 – “Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. 8 He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Hebrews 11:8-10 – “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. 9 By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.”
Hebrews 11:13-16 – “All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. 14 People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. 15 If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.”
