Flitting thoughts arrive on the branches of my mind
Like a bird building a nest, somehow each thought intertwined
“What are You trying to tell me?”, is the question from my heart
“A new thing I am doing,” I hear the Spirit’s voice impart

“Be open to the new thoughts I am planting in your field
As you water and tend them a great harvest you will yield
You’ve not gone this way before so inquire of My will
Let your heart be teachable and your ways versatile”

“Before the eggs are laid, a new nest must be built
Strong enough to weather any storm that tries to tilt
Hide this new life quietly up high and out of reach
So the enemy of your soul cannot attack and find a breach”

“Carefully tend and feed what I entrust to your heart
It will then take wing and from the nest soon depart
This new life will multiply and be fruitful in the earth
Rejoice and be glad for each small thing you give birth”
