A sudden flow of blood and water poured from Jesus’ side
When the soldier pierced Him after He had died
Flowing out together they became a vital clue
It takes repentance and His blood to be born anew

John baptized in the desert with water for repentance
Many came to be released from sin’s deadly sentence
Not only merely sorry, they desired something more
Searching for the truth so their hearts could be made pure

John prepared the way so their opened eyes could see
Some who would refuse were the priests and Pharisees
When Jesus proclaimed truth, many did receive
The water for repentance opened a pathway to believe

Jesus paid the price of sin by the shedding of His blood
Those with repentant hearts are cleansed by its red flood
His blood and water testify of the cure for sin
It takes repentance and His blood for new life to begin

Luke 7:29-30 – “All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way was right, because they had been baptized by John. 30 But the Pharisees and the experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.”
