The Glory of Your Fame

Your Word illuminates so many different things
Releasing man from darkness, Divine truth it brings
God’s truth opens cell doors and sets the captives free
Then it points the way that leads to their destiny

Who can fathom the plans You have made for every one?
You know each choice we’ll take before the day’s begun
As You go before us You prepare the way
You know our every thought even before we pray

How can we begin to praise a wondrous God like this?
You humbly came to die for us leaving heaven’s bliss
You promise to forgive all who call upon Your Name
Let the world be filled with the glory of Your fame

Isaiah 8:19–22 – “When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? 20 Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. 21 Distressed and hungry, they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God. 22 Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness.”

Psalm 139:1–6 – “You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.”
