Answer the Call

When life doesn’t turn out like you think it should
When God’s promises didn’t unfold like you thought they would
Lift your heart to the Lord and surrender all to Him
Allow hope and faith to fill your heart to the brim

Man would say you have trouble-in God’s eyes it’s a test
Would you settle for good when you could have had best?
God’s ways are not our ways, one day we will find out
Rest in His love, have faith and don’t doubt

Daily ask for God’s wisdom, mercy, love and grace
We will need all of these as we run heaven’s race
The prize is before us, it is offered to all
It’s awarded to those who answer the call

Your Destiny

I delight when you acknowledge Me, as being present in the room
Many don’t believe I’m near them, displaying faithless gloom
They know about Me in their heads; their hearts are far away
Their mouths say all the right things, but their actions will betray

It is the testing of your faith that truly shows its source
Many walk in what they know and see, avoiding heaven’s course
Their way determined by themselves, not seeking out My will
Then they wonder why they are empty and personally not fulfilled

Take the way less traveled, put your faith and hope in Me
Know I am there beside you, showing you your destiny
Ask Me what My will is, then follow it to the end
It’s much more than you ever hoped for, My loving, trusting friend

Quest for Perfection

The state of perfection cannot be found upon this earth
Nor can the true value of every person’s worth
Much is hidden now, but there is hope stored in my heart
A yearning deep inside that will not soon depart

We long for the perfect, for that which doesn’t fail
A place that is safe in the midst of the storm’s gale
The world can never answer these deep longings of our soul
But they are with us all the time an unreachable goal

God put the perfect in our heart because the perfect exists
So that we would seek and find Him in life’s changing mists
Make the Lord your quest, find in Him all your delight
He’ll give you your desires and a passion ignite

Lesson of the Birds

Learn the lesson of the birds as they watch on high
Gazing at the earth below, they’re not asking, “Why?”
Come up higher–live and learn, ascend the Temple steps
Enter in the Holy Place; My thoughts to intercept

Peace, be still, wait in My Presence, with your wings unfurled
I need to show you many things before you’re sent into the world
Like a baby eagle, desire the meat of deeper things
Eat the varied diet of the choices My hand brings

Learn to test your wings as the Spirit sends His wind
Acceptance of My ways requires much discipline
Comes a time when one day, you’ll have to leave the nest
The destiny mapped out for you will suddenly manifest

Spread your wings and fly, let the Spirit’s wind uplift
Search out My direction, let your obedience be swift
None can fly as high as an eagle on the wing
As the thermals rise, seek the Presence of the King

Job 12:7-10 – “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; 8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. 9 Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? 10 In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.”

Matthew 6:25-27

The Way of Holiness

Tongues of flames descending, burning in my heart
Purifying fires from heaven, the Holy Spirit does impart
Sent to do a cleansing-a melting from within
Exposing all the dross, of my clinging, stubborn sin

Spreading flames ignite-the oil in my lamp
God’s Word comes alive, and in my heart encamps
In the fire’s soft glow, a path before me lies
It’s called “The Way of Holiness,” by those who are wise

Only the redeemed, will walk upon this road
The ransomed of the Lord, will then enter heaven’s abode
Everlasting joy, will be the crown upon their head
The Bridegroom will be waiting, for His Bride that He will wed

Worship Wars

At the dawn of time, long, long, ago
Before the fall of Satan, brought the world much woe
The harmony of heaven, rang out with love and praise
To the Lord on High, much worship they would raise

As Satan walked the Mount of God, amongst the stones of fire
He coveted God’s worship, with unholy, consuming desire
“I will ascend to heaven, and be like the Most High
I want to be the one, they worship and glorify”

“You were blameless in your ways, from the day you were created
Till wickedness was found in you, and you were relocated
I drove you in disgrace, from the Mount of God
Expelling you, guardian cherub, and threw you to earth’s sod”

A war of worship started, to gain the hearts of men
Using weapons, lies, deception, and even poisoned pen
Vast destruction left its mark, across a battered earth
Darkness seemed to reign triumphant, until a wondrous birth

All of heaven worshipped at this miraculous sign
That Jesus would descend and leave His home divine
To come to earth, to rescue those, caught in Satan’s plan
He lived a sinless life to die, in place of sinful man

God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son
To all who do believe, true worship has begun
Now in Spirit and in Truth we worship who we know
As we join with those in heaven our praises overflow

Who will you worship? Maybe you look to self
You are imitating Satan, who looked for praise himself
This war of worship started, in a perfect place
Choose the person wisely, it’s heaven or disgrace

Isaiah 14:12-15 – “How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” 15 But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit.”
John 4:23-24 – “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Courage

No longer bound by fear of man I call you to move forward
Rising from your time of prayer and reading from My Word
It is by My Spirit I supply the courage needed
Step out now in faith with a boldness unimpeded

When you follow where I lead, My power I’ll supply
Declare My Word in confidence knowing I’ll reply
Be careful with the words you speak, by them you will eat
From your mouth comes declaration–victory or defeat

Don’t hold back in fear and doubt when you hear Me call
A ship cannot be steered unless it’s moved by rudder small
Exhibit free and fearless confidence in the God you serve
A crown is waiting with your name you will then deserve

James 3:4-5 – “Or take ships as an example. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.”

Your Will

Me:
Within me a deep compelling to listen for Your voice
To be guided by Your Spirit is the better choice
Above my dreams and plans I desire to do Your will
For each there is a destiny You are longing to fulfill

If we only knew of Your hopes and dreams planned for each one
We would choose the way You’re leading us by following Your Son
The way may be steep and rocky as we follow close behind
Eternal glory is waiting for whom it is assigned

Lord:
“You must take up your cross and follow after Me
This is the only way to discover your true destiny
If you lose your life for My sake, you will never die
Each life that’s found in Me I will surely satisfy”

Matthew 16:26-27 – “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Heart of Flesh

A heart of flesh, a heart of flesh, is what I desire
I’ll take away your heart of stone, formed by life’s hell-fire
Come to Me, come to Me, repent with all your heart
Leave behind your ways of sin, a new life you can start

I will wash away, with My blood, your iniquity deep within
New direction you will find requiring discipline
A life of love awaits you now, it bids you, “Follow Me”
As My Spirit lives in you, with new eyes you will see

A heart of flesh is a heart of love that easily can break
You share with Me My sufferings when you love for My name’s sake
Leave behind the past as My Presence you pursue
Run the race with grace and truth, with eternity in view

Lamps Aglow

Me:
My heart is overflowing, from its depths I write
As I wait upon the Lord, to give me new insight
Many are the days, I don’t hear a thing
But as I still myself to listen, my spirit starts to sing

Lord:
“Many are the topics; I give you to write
Because you take the time to listen in the dim moonlight
Even when it’s dark, I have much to say
I hear your spirit calling out as you stop to pray”

“Tell them, I am coming soon, I’m even near the door
One day it will open-with new worlds to explore
If you are not ready, you will be left behind
Be wise and gather oil, where it’s easy now to find”

“There are dark days coming where My Word will not be found
Though they search throughout the land, they’ll not hear a sound
Be wise and listen for My voice, prepare your hearts to go
I’ll know which ones are ready, because their lamps are all aglow”

Amos 8:11-12 – “The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land—not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. 12 People will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD, but they will not find it.”

Matthew 5:14-16 – “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
