Those Who Draw Close

Me:
Help me to always see things as You do
Then I will see from love’s point of view
How great is the love You have lavished on us
Before we knew You and were rebellious

Lord:
Do not love the world or the things you possess
Live in humility and not to impress
Then you will walk in My glory and My grace
Don’t seek My power, but seek My face

I love all the same, don’t ask Me to pick sides
Are you for Me? In whom do you confide?
My secrets are with those who draw close to Me
Come into My Presence with expectancy

Love each other well for this is My command
Learn the fear of the Lord, so you’ll understand
Put your trust in Me with all of your heart
For those who draw close My power I’ll impart

1 John 3:1 – “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”

Amos 3:7 – “Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.”

John 15:15 – “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

I Have Been Waiting

A garden runs through the center of My heart
Come, join Me there, set some time apart
I have been waiting to catch your eye there
I am always close, but you are not always aware

What are your plans? Come, share them with Me
I’ll show you Mine and your destiny
I’ve prepared in advance much for you to do
Your hopes and your dreams, I already foreknew

Drink of the living water you can hear close by
It comes from My Word and will always satisfy
Hope, love and direction I will then impart
To those who are waiting to hear from My heart

Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

John 7:37-39 – “On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.”
Acts 2:16-18 – “No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.’”
Acts 13:22 – “After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’”

Beauty Restored

Me:
Can beauty be restored after age takes its toll?
Is it beyond hope and past our control?
Am I speaking of buildings, cars, or maybe even me?
When you look past the facade, what do you see?

A life lived long has many stories to tell
Some have seen paradise some have seen hell
Our outside bodies reflect what we have gone through
When age takes its toll, what can one do?

Lord:
I am the restorer of hope and of dreams
That which was lost, I came to redeem
Beauty is restored when you come to the cross
When you die to self, you will not suffer loss

Resurrection only happens after a death
For new life to come all it takes is My breath
From the ashes of what was, a new body you’ll receive
To those who have faith and in Me believe

1 Peter 3:3-4 – “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

Children of the Night

One must learn of the fear of the Lord
Multitudes haven’t-a massive horde
Determined to travel the road to destruction
They scorn Me and My Word’s instruction

Their deeds are evil, and they shun the light
Therefore, they are children of the night
Woe be unto those who call evil good
In the fires of hell, they will be like wood

One day the earth will be filled with My glory
A life of sin and pleasure is transitory
Darkness will never overcome the light
Listen, oh listen, children of the night

Proverbs 1:7 – “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

Matthew 7:13-14 – “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

1 John 2:9-11 – “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. 10 Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. 11 But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.”

1 John 1:5-7 – “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

Father’s Nod

Empty is the praise of man while living on this earth
We think it satisfying, it seems to give us worth
If we try to search for it, it seems to disappear
It is like chasing after wind in calm atmosphere

Let everything you do, be for the praise of God
Live and give in such a way you look for Father’s nod
Would you want your treasure here and lose it up above?
Great is the reward of those who walk in Godly love

God chose the foolish things to confound the wise
All the glory goes to God so we won’t idolize
Seek the Father’s nod in all you strive to do
You’ll hear Him say, “Well done,” when your reward comes into view

Matthew 6:1-4 – “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

1 Corinthians 1:26-29 – “Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him.”

Matthew 25:23 – “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”

Questions You Had

There is a purpose in everything I do
The good and the bad are the worldly point of view
How does one know that they have patience or trust?
Therefore, to be found true, a test is a must

Many things could not be learned in a perfect place
Such as unconditional love, mercy, truth and grace
You are made to be like Me and know of My ways
Everything is recorded all of your earthly days

Eternity will answer all of the questions you had
Your experiences will not be listed as good or bad
Results will be known in all the tests you took
They came from experience and not from a book

Ecclesiastes 3:10–11 – “I have seen the burden God has laid on men. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

Ecclesiastes 11:5 – “As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.”

Ecclesiastes 3

Hidden in the Mist

A spiritual mist conceals the hidden
God reveals what is allowed or forbidden
There are many things that we will not know
While we live on this earth down here below

Eternity will reveal God’s deep plan
That He formulated before the world began
Wonders will unfold to be enjoyed forever
Believing God’s Word should be our main endeavor

His instructions are written for all to see
So we can be all we were meant to be
This earth is a shadow of things to come
Secrets to be revealed at heaven’s welcome

Psalm 78:2-3 – “I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old—3 things we have heard and known, things our ancestors have told us.”

Proverbs 2:1-5 – “My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, 2 turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—3 indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, 4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, 5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.”

Daniel 2:19-23 – “During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and said: “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. 21 He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. 22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. 23 I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.”

Believe and be Saved

There are not many noble, worldly wise or rich
That the Lord chooses His Spirit to enrich
God chose the lowly and the despised things
To shame the proud and the many boasts they sing

Through the wisdom of the world, one cannot know God
Though they search all their lives across this earth’s sod
God’s riches are hidden in the truth of His Son
The message of the cross can be offered to everyone

Some will despise it to their eternal grief
The opposite of faith is unbelief
Believe and be saved is the message of the cross
On the day of judgment, you will not suffer loss

1 Corinthians 1:26-31 – “Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 1:18 – “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

Romans 10:9-10 – “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Highest Praise

Let my praise rise in the morning
As the sun’s worship ascends
The dew celebrates by adorning
Enjoy the fragrance the flower sends

The winds exult You as they blow
Trees clap their hands in reply
The mountains look down below
As they reverence the Lord most high

Let everything created rejoice
Release your love in song
Whatever you are give voice
Highest praise to God all day long

Psalm 93:3 – “The seas have lifted up, LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.”

Psalm 96:11-13 – “Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. 12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. 13 Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.”

Isaiah 55:12-13 – “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the LORD’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever.”

Until the Harvest

You are the farmer, My Word is the seed
It contains everything you need to succeed
I am the life, the truth, and the way
Everything you need to guide you each day

You cannot harvest what you do not plant
Every word spoken is significant
Wherever you go, let seed be sown
Until the harvest its fruit won’t be known

Some will sow seeds others will harvest a crop
The Spirit decides where each seed will drop
Your job is to scatter the seeds I give
Pray they take root and will prosper and live

You will rejoice in the harvest one day
The fruits of your labor will be on display
Rewards will be given from out of My hand
The scope of the harvest you’ll then understand

John 4:34-38 – “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. 35 Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. 36 Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. 37 Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. 38 I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”

Galatians 6:7-10 – “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

Mark 4:26-29 – “He also said, ‘This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.’”
