Long Ago

Draw close, I am waiting to hear from you
Know I have plans and things you must do
Don’t run to others because they won’t know
Works I have ordained for you, from long ago

Come aside and join Me at our secret place
I have things to show you that you must embrace
The bad is mixed with good it all comes from My hand
Will you be obedient, will you take a stand?

Do not be stubborn and disregard My voice
You have a destiny, but I’ve given you a choice
Long ago I purposed to include you in My plan
I knew the way you’d take even before the world began

Contend for the Promise

Me:
Your ways are far above our ways we can’t even know
The many plans and mysteries You liberally bestow
We’re dependent on Your Spirit to guide us in Your will
When we follow carefully, our destiny we’ll fulfill

Lord:
Come aside and listen to My still small voice
If you fully knew My thoughts, you’d always then rejoice
You please Me when you walk in faith knowing not My plan
You need to finish well the race you initially began

Don’t let circumstances hinder your confidence in Me
You need to learn to persevere against adversity
There are some who will shrink back, in the battles’ throe
For those who want eternal life, where else can you go?

Don’t cast aside your confidence for an earthly treasure
When you can have eternal joy forever without measure
Those who put their trust in Me will follow till the end
Receiving then the promise for which they did contend

Hebrews 10:32-39 – “Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering. 33 Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. 34 You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. 35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37 For, ‘In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.’
38 And, ‘But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.’ 39 But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.”

Jude 3–4 – “Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.”

Hebrews 11:13-16
James 1:12

Deep Surrender

Lift up your holy hands in deep surrender to My ways
It directs My grace and mercy to a heart filled with My praise
When you give up your control, your voice of faith is what I hear
That is when I’m free to work in a miraculous atmosphere

It is in your deep surrender I am released to move
The things you have been waiting for evidence will now prove
This way will not be easy for you will be tried by fire
That is how I know I am your heart’s deep desire

Deep surrender, your blessed hope, a glorious new way
It keeps you on the path of life so you don’t go astray
Your faith will lead you like a lamp in obedience to My will
As you approach My throne in worship, your desires I will fulfill

It Will Cost You All

It will cost you all, to walk in My glory and power
Who knows that you were born just for this very hour?
Sacrifice has always meant the death of self and flesh
The wheat brought to My barn comes after harvest’s thresh

It’s the wind of My Spirit that separates the wheat
The chaff will be destroyed with all-consuming heat
The Holy Spirit’s fire is meant to purify
His refining fires give us opportunities to die

Will you follow Me no matter where the path may lead?
The way is straight and narrow, disobedience will mislead
Those who carry crosses, and for My sake, die
Those who have obeyed Me, will with Me, arise

Matthew 3:10-12 – “The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
11 “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Philippians 3:10-11 – “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.”

Matthew 10:38-39 – “Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.”

Philippians 3
Isaiah 53:3–4

Thresh-separate the grain wheat from the chaff, as by beating with a stick or flail. Wind is then used to blow the chaff away from the wheat as it is tossed into the air with a winnowing fork. The owner is usually around to prevent stealing.

Chaff-husks of wheat, oats, rye, etc., separated from grain by threshing; worthless stuff, rubbish.

Mislead-cause to go in the wrong way, go astray, lead into wrongdoing.

The Harvest Has Begun

Lord:
You’ve been hidden so long you think the cave is your home
I’m calling you forth from your sleep in the catacomb
Know that I can make even the deadest bones rise
With the breath of My Spirit your life will energize

You must die first to self to be robed with My glory
To be led by My Spirit is now mandatory
Many will be drawn to the light of My grace
As they see My love in your bright, beaming face

Arise and shine to reflect the light of My Son
The time of My great harvest has now begun
I am sending you forth to work in My field
Crops I have planted will produce a huge yield

Me:
Yes, Lord, I will follow and answer Your call
For Your great glory I will give it my all
You are worthy of my undivided love
I’ll bring in the harvest to Your courts up above

God of the Impossible

The God of the impossible leads us how to pray
Directed by His Spirit, He gives us words to say
Groans too deep to utter, come from deep below
Setting faith on fire from the Spirit’s flow

What seems impossible to men, is not too hard for God
Laws of nature were made by Him, for this earthly sod
Dimensions cannot hold God, nor the heavens above
He’s ruler over everything, and yet, desires our love!

What seems now impossible, in your earthly test?
Come humbly before His Presence to make your bold request
Look not to earthly circumstance, but to the present need
The secret is–keep asking, with persistence, intercede

Use the colors of the rainbow to paint your prayer’s request
An impressive masterpiece will suddenly manifest
A gallery in heaven holds each faith-filled work of art
Testifying of a wondrous God who answers prayers of the heart

Romans 8:26-27 – “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”

Kingdom Authority

Turn away from sin, and I will walk with thee
There will not be lack, before you only plenty
Draw close and listen now, I have much to say
I know what is in your heart before you even pray

Be careful with your words, by them you will eat
Will they be found bitter, or will you choose the sweet?
Before the light appeared, there was only sound
When I sent it forth the universe was found

You can’t comprehend what I am about to do
When you walk with Me, the nation’s we’ll subdue
I’ve given you authority to bring My kingdom down
I’m training you to reign, dressed in your righteous gown

I’m releasing kingdom authority on the sons of men
When you walk in love, My power is loosed from heaven
Through many trials, you’ve learned to listen for My voice
When My glory is revealed, creation will rejoice

Romans 8:18-21 – “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”

Psalm 115:16 – “The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind.”

James 3:7-12
Genesis 1:27-28
Revelation 2:26-29, 3:14-22

Quiet Study

Be prepared and ready for what I am about to do
There are not too many people who have the slightest clue
They have rejected prophecy and put it off the side
If they would have studied it, they would have had a guide

There were sons of Issachar who understood the times
Their hearts were pure and open to capture the sublime
So, in times of trouble, they knew what they must do
In nights of quiet study, My purpose they foreknew

Come aside in silence, and listen for My voice
There are many options, you must make a choice
The pureness of your attitude determines what you hear
I have much to show you, come to Me, draw near

1 Chronicles 12:32 – “from Issachar, men who understood the times and knew what Israel should do….”

Revelation 19:10 – “At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”

Philippians 3:7-14
Luke 12:54-56

Suffering

In the eyes of eternity your suffering is not in vain
The enemy thinks he’s won with affliction’s ill-gotten gain
Through the trial of pain, heart’s attitude is laid bare
What can’t be seen now is treasure beyond compare

Eternal victory awards the martyr who gave up everything
Never-ending fame awaits those who through pain sing
If we could see now, what our trial will produce
We would shake off complaining and our praises we would loose

The testing of our faith is like gold refined by fire
The dross is exposed as the flames jump even higher
The crown of life is offered to those who persevere
One day we’ll understand why the trials were so severe

Dawn’s Light

They’re crying, “Peace, peace,” but there is no peace
Until Jesus returns the wars won’t cease
Birth pains experienced all over the place
A new day is dawning across the earth’s face

God’s glory descending to fill the whole earth
Darkness receding as people receive the new birth
Nations astonished at the brightness of their dawn
As the gospel goes forth the multitudes are drawn

God’s army is clothed with armor so bright
Covering robes of righteousness that have been made white
Arise and shine for this battle you were born
Dawn’s light will reveal a glorious new morn

Mark 13:7-8 – “When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.”

2 Corinthians 3:18 – “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Song of Songs 6:10 – “Who is this that appears like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, majestic as the stars in procession?”

Isaiah 60
1 John 1, 2
Revelation 7:9-14

What are you beholding? If we are living in the light of God’s truth, we will reflect that light. If we choose to behold darkness or evil, we will walk in darkness and be blind to the truth avoiding the light because it will expose those who choose evil. Just as dawn does not appear suddenly, so our transformation into Christ’s likeness is also gradual. We are being transformed with ever increasing glory. So be patient with each other as we grow into the light of the truth. Let us encourage each other by sharing our light with others and leading them out of darkness.
