Judged Worthless

We walk through this life as an extension of You

To keep us humble You send people to misconstrue
Our thoughts, deeds and motives judged worthless by them
Judging with their eyes and with prideful tongue they condemn

This teaches us to walk in forgiveness and love
Imitating You in Your courts up above
How else could we learn of Your truth and Your ways?
Grace and mercy flowing, as self dies, then obeys

I rejoice when judged worthless by friend or by foe
As were the holy ones who lived long ago
I am exceedingly glad to suffer for Your Name
My reward will be great as Your Word I proclaim

Matthew 5:10-12 – “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Psalm 119:161-168
John 15:18-23

Favor

I love each one the same, not one more than the rest
Even though each life is different, they still have the same test
Who will trust and love Me? Who will then believe?
Who will still have faith, My promise to receive?

Those who trust and love Me, My favor is poured out
It’s for all who will believe Me, and choose not to doubt
A mighty, gushing river of My Spirit’s power
Sent on those who walk in faith, and those who will not cower

Will you serve and honor Me all your earth-filled days?
You must seek My face, and walk in all My ways
My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest
My favor will be shown, on those whom I called blessed

Genesis 4:3-7 – “In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. 4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So, Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
6 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”

Psalm 84:11 – “For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”

Exodus 33:12-23

The Bible makes it clear that God loves everyone and wants all to come to the knowledge of who He is and how much He loves them. But it is also clear that God shows His favor on people differently. If you look up the word favor in the Bible concordance and read all the verses in the Bible where it occurs, it is apparent that the Lord bestows favor on those who love and honor Him. What a privilege to know we can walk in God’s favor.

Clothe Me with Your Love

Oh Lord, I need Your love to clothe and fill my soul
Without it I’m so empty, come and make me whole
It is only by Your Spirit, Your perfect love comes down
To dress and clothe me when I ask, in a righteous gown

As I walk in steadfast faith, I choose Your righteous ways
To be prepared and ready during all my earthly days
Wash and cleanse me through Your Word, as I come to You
As I’m waiting in Your Presence–my attitude renew

I invite You, Holy Spirit, to come and live in me
Purify my thoughts and motives so I can be set free
Taking off my filthy rags, I look to You above
As You lead me in Your ways, and clothe me with Your love

Galatians 3:26–27 – “So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”

Romans 13:14 – “Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.”

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 – “May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. 13 May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.”

Zechariah 3:3–4 – Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. 4 The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”

2 Corinthians 5
Isaiah 61:10
Ephesians 5:25-27
Revelation 19:7–8

As sinful human beings we do not have the unconditional, divine love that God has. We are born selfish and self-centered and have to learn how not to be that way. God has an easier and better way. We can ask for His divine love to fill us, and we will see through His eyes and with His heart as He lives in us. Be prepared to be tested, because how will we know we have that kind of love unless a trial comes along?

Truth is a Person

Oh Lord God, of my deep desire
Your ways are always so much higher
If I could figure Your plan out
I’d need not faith, I’d have no doubt

That which I see by my worldly eye
Deception can twist into a lie
Your truth can be discarded by those
Bringing upon themselves many woes

Truth is not just facts, but a person
God in the flesh, heaven’s Adamic version
A way of living in the divine
When we are attached to God’s true vine

Truth is not relative, but firm and sure
When we live it, we are being made pure
Jesus is the rock on which we can stand
All other ways are shifting sand

John 14:6 – “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Matthew 7:24-27
1 Corinthians 15:45-49
John 14:5-21

Facts can be deceptive. They don’t always give the true picture. Facts showed that the nation of Israel were slaves in Egypt with no way out, but the truth is that God was mightier than Egypt’s army and they did escape.
Facts showed that it was not possible for David to defeat the giant, Goliath, with a slingshot; but the truth is he did with God’s help.
Facts showed that the three Hebrew youths in the fiery furnace in the book of Daniel should not have been able to survive, but the truth is they emerged without even smelling like smoke.
Facts showed that it was not possible for a virgin to give birth, but the truth is Jesus was born that way.
What facts are keeping you from believing God is able to intervene in your situation? The truth is, He can!
Jesus is the truth (John 14:6), so to love the truth is to love Him. Truth is a person.

All the Glory

All the glory goes to You
In everything I say and do
If I take it for myself
It would turn to dust upon the shelf

And yet You’ve given me a part
To share with others Your great heart
Teaching me to rule and reign
Bringing heaven to earth’s domain

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done
Enlarge the realm of Your dear Son
Till all the earth will hear Your fame
And choose to worship Your great name

All the glory goes to You
Praise and honor are Your due
I fix my eyes upon Your plan
To redeem the earth and every man

1 Timothy 2:3–4 – “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

1 Chronicles 16:1-36
2 Timothy 2:11-13

It’s all a part of God’s great plan that we would have His heart to bring salvation to every man. He is making us into His image while we live on this earth. He’s changing us from glory to glory with His light and Presence burning in our heart. It is all a part of becoming one with Him and knowing His ways. Because He is the one doing this in us, we must never take the glory for ourselves. All the glory goes to Him.

Your Great Love

Is it because of Your great love, that I love You so?
Those who are forgiven much, have great love to show
It is in Your Presence, I feel no condemnation
Your blood was shed for me, before the earth’s foundation

Oh, what a glorious thought–that I am in Your plan
To form a kingdom large, that You will rule with man
We’ll reign by Your side, the bride of Your delight
Rescued by Your blood, that You shed to gain that right

It is because of Your great love, that I love You so
On ones ransomed from the curse of sin, Your mercy You bestow
For those who strive to overcome, great is Your reward
On all who love You lavishly Your glory is outpoured

Revelation 20:6 – “Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.”

Revelation 3:21 – “To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.”

Luke 7:36-50
Romans 8:1-4
1 Peter 1:17-20

What is the deepest heart cry of the human soul? To be loved and to know you are loved. Everyone searches for significance, but what is the reason for this quest? To be loved and admired for who you are. Who does the Bible say we are? The holy Scriptures claim all are sinners. But the good news is this, Jesus loves us. Because of His great love, our Savior and Lord came to redeem those who believe in Him and will follow Him. Those who were rescued from the darkest places, will be the most grateful for the glorious light of God.

Open Portals

Lord, I love reading previous poems that You’ve given me
They seem to be a treasure map leading to my destiny
Helping to remind me of each important thought
Opening a portal that Your precious blood has bought

At these open portals, Your angels are free to move
When my thoughts align with Yours, my prayers are approved
Winged messengers take flight to carry out Your will
I’m standing on Your Word in faith, until it be fulfilled

Lord:
When you stand upon My Word and declare it out in power
Angels that are waiting for My command you will empower
I’ve given you dominion on the earth to rule and reign
You must war in battle to protect your given domain

I’ve made you precious promises over the many years
They’ve strengthened and encouraged you–alleviating many fears
There is an open heaven, to those who seek My face
Out of open portals descend My mercy, truth and grace

Hebrews 1:14 – “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?”

Matthew 3:16-17 – “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Genesis 28:10-22
1 Kings 8:25-61

One can pray from anywhere and God certainly hears and answers. But it also appears from the Scriptures listed above, that there are certain places on this earth where angelic activity is especially strong and God’s Presence and glory are manifested. Some call these places portals. The definition of a portal is a doorway, gate or other entrance, especially a large and elaborate one. They seem to be formed by seeking the Lord often through prayer, praise, sacrifice, and spiritual disciplines such as fasting and giving etc. We are usually not aware of an open portal since we cannot see into the spirit realm. There is probably one where you go to worship regularly each week and also where you go to meet God in prayer every day.

You Never Quit

You never quit drawing us close to Your heart
Inviting us to come and set some time apart
It is in the secret place You conform us to Your will
While our hearts are waiting, hopeful, quiet, still

When we then offer this precious time to You
You descend in our praises like the morning dew
Bringing grace and mercy from Your storehouse up above
To shower on those who seek You with hearts filled with love

Oh Lord, it is so easy for my heart to stray
The things of this world distract me every day
I thank You that You never quit drawing me to You
I’ll meet You at our secret place–Your presence to pursue

Psalm 42:1-2 – “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”

Psalm 27, 34, 91

It is so easy for our hearts to get distracted with the things of this world. But in every circumstance of life, God is there waiting for us and drawing us to Himself. Don’t forget to take the time to meet with Him in your secret place of prayer. For we are always in His thoughts and He will never quit or give up on us. He desires to have a relationship with you–the God of the universe. How amazing is that!

In Awe of God

Many will stand in awe of God as His glory is outpoured
Chains will be broken, prisoners freed, as He is worshiped and adored
Darkness leaves as His light rises, on the children of men
Reclaiming back ground that was lost on the seven mountains

The rising “Son” of this new age dawns in the valleys of sadness
The feet of those who bring good news proclaim peace and gladness
The end of the old age cannot come until the gospel is preached
Every tribe and nation in the whole world must first be reached

Therefore, stand in awe of God and His mighty power
His earthly army is sent forth to gather in this hour
The great harvest is now starting for the souls of men
The house of God will be full when He comes back for us again

Isaiah 52:7-“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”

Matthew 24:14-“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

Luke 14:23-“Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.”

Nahum 1
Isaiah 52

In the 1970’s God gave a teaching to several different people about the seven mountains of influence. In order for the church to impact the world with the gospel, it would be necessary for Christians to change the nature of the seven mountains from Satan’s kingdom to God’s kingdom principles. The seven mountains of influence are: religion, family, education, government, media, arts and entertainment, and business. When we conquer the seven mountains and influence them with the truths of the gospel, we will become the light and salt we were meant to be.
We cannot do this without the Lord’s power and leading. Since He is directing us to do that, we know that it is His plan and purpose for us. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we know that it can be accomplished. Therefore, let us stand in awe of God.

Lamps in the Temple

The lamps in the temple were lit with holy fire
Nothing could extinguish the flaming oil’s desire
The light of God cannot go out when it’s living in our heart
On Pentecost it’s glow descended, the Spirit to impart

God’s children are the temple, God’s Spirit the glow within
Our choice, the way of light, or the darkness of our sin
You cannot hate your brother and claim to walk in light
The flame would be extinguished, bringing in the night

We must walk in truth and mercy so all the world will know
The love that God the Father has for us who dwell below
Clouds of darkness hide His Presence as He rides the ancient sky
Testing hearts of men with holy fires to purify

Malachi 3:2-4 – “But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, 4 and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the LORD, as in days gone by, as in former years.”

Revelation 3:17-19 – “You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.”

1 John 1:5-10, 2:1-14
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

I was thinking about it being the season of Hanukkah this morning. That is the Jewish festival where they celebrate the miracle of the lamps in the Jewish temple burning for eight days even though there was only enough sacred oil to burn for one day. Oil and fire are a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Fire can symbolize power, like on the day of Pentecost, or it can represent a trial sent by God to test us.
The enemy of our soul also sends fire into lives on earth, but it is for our destruction. All who follow his evil ways will suffer forever in that fire.
Fire also has good properties like light and heat. They are necessary for our quality of life. There is another kind of fire that God sends for our benefit. It is a purifying fire. Yes, it is painful, but those who have gone through it are changed and become a part of God’s light burning for Him, like the lamps in the temple.
