Well-Watered Garden

I am like a well-watered garden in the heat of day
A fountain of living water is at its center on display
Delightful blooms of many colors decorate the scene
A crown of shade protects the grass beneath tall evergreen

It is there I sit and wait to hear my Beloved’s voice
I could be doing many things, but this is my best choice
Some days I come dry and empty to be filled again
Inspiring thoughts become the ink of my ready pen

This secret can be found of anyone who feels barren, dry
Open up the Word of God and drink from His supply
It will refresh and give life-to even the deadest heart
Living waters flowing forth, God’s glory to impart

Isaiah 58:11 – “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

Sacrifice by Fire

Me:
Life doesn’t always turn out like we think it should
We make plans in our minds as if it really would
In our perfect world we think we are in control
Then God changes everything and it’s not so wonderful

Release your hopes and dreams as a sacrifice by fire
Delight yourself in God and make Him your desire
The longings of your heart He will then fulfill
Come to Him in faith and with trusting heart be still

Lord:
My fire falls on the sacrifices offered up to Me
Releasing My great power to influence destiny
Eternity will prove the value of each trial
Great treasure is released through every self-denial

You can only do this in your short time here on earth
Eternity will prove your sacrifice’s worth
Do not waste the time I’ve given you down here
By sacrificial giving your love is shown sincere

Psalm 37:4-5 (NASB) – “Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will do it.”

1 Chronicles 21:22-27 (NASB) – “Then David said to Ornan, ‘Give me the site of this threshing floor, that I may build on it an altar to the LORD; for the full price you shall give it to me, that the plague may be restrained from the people.’ 23 Ornan said to David, ‘Take it for yourself; and let my lord the king do what is good in his sight. See, I will give the oxen for burnt offerings and the threshing sledges for wood and the wheat for the grain offering; I will give it all.’ 24 But King David said to Ornan, ‘No, but I will surely buy it for the full price; for I will not take what is yours for the LORD, or offer a burnt offering which costs me nothing.’ 25 So David gave Ornan 600 shekels of gold by weight for the site. 26 Then David built an altar to the LORD there and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. And he called to the LORD and He answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering. 27 The LORD commanded the angel, and he put his sword back in its sheath.”

Romans 12:9-21

A New Birth of Freedom

A new birth of freedom dawns across our land
The faithful saints of God are taking a stand
The pain is intense as it comes into view
It is now or never, it is long overdue

This land is connected to a covenant with God
Made long ago as they traversed the land broad
With God’s hand upon us, our nation was blessed
Until great evil began to manifest

The heart of God’s people began to grow cold
As many false gods took a strong foothold
The devastation this made woke a few people up
They began praying to overturn the corrupt

A new day is dawning we will not fail the test
With God’s help we’ll win and enter our rest
This new birth of freedom will spread across the world
As we plant God’s flag and His Word is unfurled

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 – “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Joshua 23, 24

You Are Worthy

Me:
You are worthy of my obedience and love
Your power and glory are descending from above
Walking in the Spirit releases Your will
When I do this, the law I fulfill

Lord:
You are My friends if you do what I command
Walking in love fulfills the law’s demand
You can only do this as you remain in Me
Obedience is the key that will set your spirit free

Do you wish to walk in My power and My glory?
To love and obey, is then mandatory
All creation groans to see My sons and daughters
As My Word is released through life-giving waters

John 14:15-21 – “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

Word Pictures

I send forth My living Word, often in a picture form
Even the hardest heart I can easily transform
“I see,” means to know, yes, I get it now
On the screen in your mind, you receive it somehow

The dreams and visions I send are an important part
Of discerning My will, My direction to impart
That is why the enemy fights so hard
Using lies and ridicule to discredit and bombard

When you walk in My Spirit, My Word comes alive
I send forth My power to heal and revive
Your spirit, the transmitter, receives what you can’t see
Then transforms it into pictures with understanding and clarity

It is all a mystery and takes faith to believe
Tune to My frequency so My Word you’ll receive
Things that are hidden will be turned into sight
My Spirit is inside of you causing passion to ignite

Job 19:25-27 – “I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!”

Faith-Filled Eyes

The glory of the Lord rises upon the new day
Scattering the darkness in brilliant display
See the light shine from the joyous faces of those
Who sought the Lord’s Presence and in Him find repose

Kings will come to the brightness of your dawn
As we reflect His light, many nations will be drawn
Then desolate places will be brought back to life
After years of war, hatred, division and strife

The Lord will become your everlasting light
Ending days of sorrow and blackness of earth’s night
Possessing then His promises with love and joy untold
With faith-filled eyes watching your victory unfold

Isaiah 60:1-3 – “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”

Hebrews 11:1-2 – “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for.”

Jesus is Lord

The seas are boiling, tossing and churning
Loosed from restraint, God’s ways they are spurning
Just as the Lord stilled the waves on Galilee
He can still hearts, bent on savagery

“Peace, be still,” Jesus says to the waves
Water turns calm and then behaves
The descending storm that the enemy sent
Had to obey and become obedient

Jesus is Lord over air, sea and land
Is he Lord, over the heart you command?
He gives us the choice to rebel or obey
Make Him your Lord while it is still day

Psalm 65:5-7 – “You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, 6 who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength, 7 who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.”

Psalm 93:3-5 – “The seas have lifted up, LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. 4 Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea—the LORD on high is mighty. 5 Your statutes, LORD, stand firm: holiness adorns your house for endless days.”

John 9:4-5 – “As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

Job 5

Relent

Return to Me and I will return to you
Your heart has been distant and not remained true
I have been waiting with outstretched arms calling
Hoping to see you before night is falling

Return to Me with all of your heart
My mercy I’ll show and My grace impart
You have broken faith by your words and deeds
Inviting destruction when you plant rebellion’s seeds

My father’s heart searches out those who will repent
Will you choose My way? I ask you to relent
Then you’ll show to the world a true picture of Me
When you walk in holiness, truth and mercy

Remember Whose You Are

Me:
Lord, help me to remember who I really am
A sinner saved by grace by a spotless Lamb
A perfect sacrifice–was offered in my place
Taking on my sin and suffering in disgrace

Lord:
I have paid sin’s penalty, so you could be set free
A dowery’s price was set, so you could live with Me
Remember whose you are, we are now made one
When My Spirit lives in you, new life has begun

To produce the Spirit’s fruit stay connected to the vine
In the day of harvest–a yield of finest wine
At the wedding feast, our joy unsurpassed
Where the last shall be first, and the first shall be last

Romans 12:3 – “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.”

James 1:22-25 – “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”

Galatians 5 and 6

He is the Prize

Let us run with perseverance in the race for the crown
Watching, are a cloud of witnesses, ones of great renown
They cheer us on to contend for the heavenly prize
Which is so much greater than many realize

This race is a relay course, most adventurous
Having been perfected, now together with us
We can overcome the world and its hindering sin
By fixing our gaze on Jesus, the race we will win

He is the prize and our everlasting gain
Together, forever, with Him we will reign
Forsake the world’s charms and make Jesus your desire
For the Lord, Almighty God, is a consuming fire

Hebrews 11:39-40 – “And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”

Hebrews 12:1-2 – “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

2 Timothy 4:7-8 – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
