Manna From Heaven

Reach for the medicine that has the power to heal
Come eat the “bread from heaven” for a satisfying meal
As you do, remember, it was His body broke for you
A picture of the manna that rained down with morning’s dew

Savor each Word He wrote and read them every day
It will become a part of you and help you to obey
Each word tastes like honey, it is what angels eat
Bringing life to your body, spirit, soul so sweet

This manna sent from heaven, Jesus is His Name
In partaking of His life and death, you’ll never be the same
This bread is His flesh, it will become a part of you
Whoever feeds on Him will share in His life and view

John 6:51 – “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

Deuteronomy 8:3 – “He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.”

Exodus 16
Psalm 78:23–25
John 6:25–59

When Jesus spoke the words in John 6:51 above, many of His disciples left Him because they didn’t understand what He was saying. He was comparing the words in the Bible to His flesh. Just like you need food for your body, your spirit needs the Word of God for your soul. These words are the food that will keep you alive in Jesus.

Each Test

Lord, may I pass each test, that is sent from You
With a thankful heart, knowing You foreknew
I don’t know the answers, so I hope and pray
Asking you for wisdom so I don’t disobey

Each test is a trial by fire meant to purify
Teaching us to love, and how to help self die
Lord, I ask for wisdom, to know what to do
So I can respond in faith and know what is true

Each test given out in school tells us where we stand
Showing us wrong answers, so we understand
At the end of life’s long course, when heaven will be won
I long to see my Saviors face and hear Him say, “Well done”

Luke 9:23–25 – Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?”

Romans 6:1–14
Matthew 25:14–30

Do you remember taking tests in school when you were young? It made you feel anxious and unsure of yourself. But they were necessary to see how well you understood what the course was teaching. Did you ever notice we remember more from our mistakes than we do when we get the answer right? It is because of the Lord’s grace that we get to take a test over and over again until we get it right. Sometimes when I am going through a trial, I think to myself, that this is only a test to see how much I have learned.

Remain in Him

Help me be obedient when I don’t understand
All Your words are truth, on them I take a stand
It is not an option for me to pick and choose
By Your law I fall or stand, who can be excused?

You made a way, where there is none, to forgive my sin
At the cross on Calvary is where I must begin
Sin was judged and paid for, by a blameless One
So I can stand forgiven by Your Holy Son

Now Christ lives in me, His Spirit is my guide
If I am obedient, I’ll in the vine abide
If I remain in Him, He will remain in me
Then I’ll bear much fruit, to my Father’s glory

John 15:5–8 – “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

John 15

It is by being obedient and obeying the Lord’s commands that we will remain in His love. That is how we show our love for Him. We don’t always have to understand, but we do have to be obedient. The Holy Spirit in us gives us the power to do that.

Lift Up a Shout

Days of victory are upon us, so I say, rejoice
Lift up a shout of praise with a loud commanding voice
This sound will knock our enemies over like a wind-blown leaf
Granting us swift victory, and from their tyranny–relief

The Lion of the tribe of Judah gives a loud, long roar
Arriving on the battlefield as a mighty conqueror
Lining up behind Him are His troops in fierce array
Causing enemy forces to quake in their dismay

Like the shout at Jericho that demolished their great wall
The strongholds of our enemy will begin to crumble, then will fall
Lift up a shout of praise as our faith turns into sight
For the glory of our God and King, we’ll for our country fight

Joshua 6:16 – The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the LORD has given you the city!”

Joshua 5, 6

As I was praying this morning, I sensed a fierce battle approaching for our country, but I also sensed a great victory. In the battle of Jericho, the odds were not on the side of Israel. In faith they marched forward with the help of God and took the city in a short time because of the Lord’s help and direction. Can you imagine the fear of the enemy as they heard the shout of God’s people and then saw their wall of protection fall before their very eyes? Their strength would have left them. The battle was short and victorious.
The command to shout was a step of faith. The impenetrable walls of the enemy were standing before them. They looked beyond what they could see and believed instead what God told them through their prophetic leaders. The shout of faith is a mighty weapon in the hands of God’s people.

Living Waters

Immersed in Your Presence where the living waters flow
I am free to swim in its depths far below
Hidden in the deep is treasure beyond compare
The Spirit leads the way for those who are God’s heir

Rich and special promises are there for the taking
Reaching out in faith is the key to partaking
There is enough for everyone on earth
It’s only for the ones who have the second birth

It will cost you all to pursue this hidden treasure
It is by dying we receive life without measure
Come to the stream where the living waters flow
God is waiting there with His Spirit to bestow

John 7:37-39 – “On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’ 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.”

Matthew 16:24-27 – “Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.’”

Jeremiah 2:13 – “My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.”

Revelation 21:6-7 – “He said to me: ‘It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.’”

John 3:1-21
Revelation 22 :1-5

Deep is Calling

I speak to you every day but so often you don’t hear
Sometimes, through circumstances, not always by your ear
Other times you might perceive through the people’s voices
So many people talking, so many are the choices

Enter into quiet and learn how to be still
I will not force you; everyone has free will
I’ve given you a choice-the world with its pleasures
Or-come away with Me to discover hidden treasures

Deep is calling unto deep do you hear Me calling?
Many times, I’ve come to visit as the night is falling
Hear the whisper of the trees as the air grows still
When you listen closely, My thoughts I will instill

Matthew 11:25-30 – “At that time Jesus said, ‘I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
27 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.’”

Psalm 23:1-3 NKJV – “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”

Psalm 42:7-8 – “Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. 8 By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life.”

Psalms 23, 42

Follow God

Me:
We are to follow God, He doesn’t follow us
Our obedience to Him will lead to the miraculous
Jesus only said what He heard His Father say
On the many nights when He met with Him to pray

Miracles then followed to the ones that He was sent
Not everyone was healed to the places that He went
Obedience and faith caused many to believe
Miracles took place to those who would receive

Lord:
If you hear My voice and follow where I lead
There will be a harvest from your planted seed
We’ll rejoice together in heaven on that day
With the many souls you’ve won by following “The Way”

John 12:49-50 – “For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken. 50 I know that his command leads to eternal life. So, whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”

Matthew 15:28 – “Then Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.’”

Matthew 13:58 – “And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.”

John 14:5-6 – “Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Visions and Dreams

Me:
I bring You my love from the depths of my soul
My God, who dwells in dimensions invisible
Open the eyes of my heart that I might see
The power and the glory of Your majesty

You promised visions and dreams will be poured out on those-
Who are Your people and dress in servant’s clothes
Oh, that I might see Your wonders in my day
The fulfillment of Your Word put on full display

Lord:
Yes, I will pour out My Spirit on all people
To those who are mine under each steeple
Wonders in the heaven and signs on the earth
Are given to those who preach the new birth

Visions and dreams will be given to those-
To prove My love to who are now My foes
I do not wish that any will perish
All My creation I love and cherish

Acts 2:17-21 NKJV – “And it shall come to pass in the last days,” says God, “That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants, I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. 19 I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. 21 And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved.”

Daniel 2:26-30 – “The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, ‘Are you able to make known to me the dream which I have seen, and its interpretation?”’27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, ‘The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king. 28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these: 29 As for you, O king, thoughts came to your mind while on your bed, about what would come to pass after this; and He who reveals secrets has made known to you what will be. 30 But as for me, this secret has not been revealed to me because I have more wisdom than anyone living, but for our sakes who make known the interpretation to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your heart.’”

John 3:1-21
Psalm 145

Kingdom of Light

Christ in you, the hope of glory
The mystery of ages now revelatory
By Jesus’ death I am made holy in His sight
Through His blood I can enter the kingdom of light

From the dominion of darkness, He has rescued me
By His blood I am forgiven and from sin set free
Send me Your judgments, open my eyes to my sin
That I might repent and be cleansed deep within

I cannot live in darkness if I walk in God’s light
If I choose to hide my sin, I dwell in the kingdom of night
The world and its desires will eventually pass away
If you are caught in its grip, you will be led astray

Those who love belong to the kingdom of light
To live in Him means always doing what is right
Eternal life is the prize, God’s Word lights the way
If you stay on the path, it leads to never-ending day

Colossians 1:25-27 – “I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Streams of Living Water

Me:
Your supernatural love–let it flood through me
Till streams of living water flow for lost humanity
This noisy, angry mob, is a test sent from You
Will I choose to love or salvation’s plan misconstrue?

I can’t do this on my own, but in Your Word I trust
I’ll offer living water to Your enemies who distrust
This act of love will startle even the hardened heart
Convictions and repentance the Holy Spirit will impart

Lord:
As they drink this living water My Word will come alive
Rivers overflowing harvest’s field will soon arrive
The final storm held back till the reaper’s work is done
The promise of a new age–the reign of My dear Son
