Victories That Astound

Speak out My Word that you have hidden in your heart
Let your faith rise up as direction I impart
This life is a training ground for you to learn to reign
If I always rescue you, what did you then gain?

Learn to use My Word as a sword in your hand
The enemy must obey what you then command
Go on the offensive to perform My will
As you obey, your destiny you’ll fulfill

Evil spirits are your foes not the ones who are bound
I send you to rescue them with victories that astound
My saints rejoice in this honor to go to war with Me
Angelic forces go with you to set the captives free

Hebrews 4:12 – “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Ephesians 6:17 – “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Psalm 144:1 – “Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.”

Psalm 149:5–9 – “Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.
6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, 7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, 8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, 9 to carry out the sentence written against them—this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the LORD.”

Psalm 18:28–50
Ephesians 6:10–18

Early Morning Prayer

In Heaven’s book of my life a fresh page lies bare
What will this day bring that I might prepare?
I’ll start my morning off by meeting with You
Since You live outside of time, this day You foreknew

How vast is the sum of Your thoughts toward me?
My days are in Your book before one of them came to be
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me to attain
Your Presence is everywhere throughout earth’s domain

I want to do the good works that You have ordained
My life is laid down but eternity is gained
If I obtain the whole world, what good would it be?
If my soul would be lost for all eternity?

I’ll rise on the wings of the dawn to meet with You
So, I can find out what You want me to do
There in Your Presence my day I’ll prepare
As we meet together in my early morning prayer

Psalm 139:16 – “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Path of the Righteous

A whirlwind from the Lord I see
Blow into the camp of my enemy
Stinging sand bringing down their tents
Destroying their plans and evil intents

As I seek and declare God’s Word
Angels are sent with drawn sword
My faith is displayed as I believe and pray
Releasing miracles along my spoken pathway

The path of the righteous shining bright
God’s glory arising to drive out the night
His kingdom established in every heart
To those who are humble and from sin depart

Proverbs 4:18–19 – “The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. 19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.”

Matthew 7:26-27 – “But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Isaiah 66:2b – “This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.”

Isaiah 54, 66

Rescue Plan

“What am I being saved from?”, is the question that I hear
“What comes after death that I should learn to fear?”
God’s Word talks about a sinful human race
Choosing their own path in life and abandoning God’s grace

God prepared a place for the angels who rebel
It’s a place of torment, a place that we call hell
Willful sins reward is chains and flames of fire
Heaven’s bliss is left behind, eternal agony they acquire

Adam’s disobedience also came at a great cost
Sin entered paradise causing mankind to be lost
God put in place a rescue plan involving His dear Son
All who will believe in Him their new life has begun

Jude 1:6 – “And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.”

2 Peter 2:4–9 – “For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment; 5 if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others; 6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7 and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless 8 (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)— 9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.”

John 3:16-21 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”

2 Peter 2 & 3

Knowledge Too Wonderful

I’ll rise before the dawn and come meet with You
Your Words will appear like the fresh morning dew
Refreshing my soul to bring much delight
Bringing me wisdom with a different insight

You promised to be with me and never leave
All things bad and good, together You weave
It fashions a tapestry of intricate worth
Starting from the day You were present at my birth

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me to conceive
Your eyes search my faith to see what I believe
Will I trust Your Word and do what it says?
Will I love and honor You for all of my days?

Psalm 139:6 – “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.”

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 – “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.”

Luke 18:8b – “However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Psalm 139:1–18
1 Corinthians 2

Blameless

I will be blameless in the “Day” of Jesus Christ
By my own merits I could never pay sin’s price
Upon the cross Jesus took my sin, guilt and shame
I am now free from death’s sentence and blame

Peace is now mine because of God’s mercy and grace
Accepted am I in His love’s fullest embrace
God is faithful and wants His church to be so
He invites all to come and His Presence to know

I don’t have to hide behind a mask anymore
Blameless am I because my sins He all bore
When accusations come in an overwhelming flood
Speak out the truth, “I am set free by His blood”

Web of Deceit

A spider thought he had me in his sticky thread
The desperate situation filled me with much dread
How did I come to be here, how can I get free?
A trap had been laid for me that I did not foresee

I remember an enticement that had led me there
Before I could react, I was in a deadly snare
I remember I’d been warned not to go that way
This is what might happen when you disobey

The honey that I thought I saw on the web of deceit
Became the potent poison that I longed to eat
The bait that I had longed for was the trap that held me fast
This sticky situation has left me all aghast

Lord, my offenses are many in Your sight
My sins testify against me in Your holy light
Truth has stumbled in the streets and evil is now king
Surely, I deserve the judgments that my sins now bring

Lord, I repent and want to turn back to You
Rescue me from sin’s deceit, Your forgiveness I pursue
All who call upon Your Name You will surely hear
With Your grace and mercy, I ask You to draw near

Save me by Your righteous arm, sustain me with Your grace
In Your holy armor take me to Your hiding-place
All who will repent and turn You will surely save
You are mighty to redeem those who are destined for the grave

Isaiah 59:5 – “They hatch the eggs of vipers and spin a spider’s web. Whoever eats their eggs will die, and when one is broken, an adder is hatched.”

John 3:16–17 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

Wings of Faith

Rise up on wing like the eagle in flight
The higher you soar the greater insight
Place your hope in Me and I will lift you
Renewing your strength till faith comes into view

This you can’t see but it is the power you need
To produce a harvest that started as a seed
Faith will make a path that you can soar on
Creating reality that you can act upon

Stand on My Word and speak it out
Believe in your heart and do not doubt
Faith gives substance to things hoped for
Giving you strength to help you soar

Abraham believed what he did not see
He called it out until it came to be
He saw things which are not, as though they were there
Creating reality out of thin air

Soar on wings of faith on the air you can’t see
Believe on My Word until it comes to be
Noah looked stupid until it started to rain
Believe in Me and you’ll have the whole world to gain

Matthew 17:19–20 – “Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

Isaiah 40:28–31

Mystery of the Ages

The mystery of the ages, fulfilled before our eyes
Prophecies completed and noticed by the wise
Hidden things unveiled, to those who search the Book
The wicked shall not understand, the signs they’ll overlook

Those who are His servants God’s secrets are revealed
Those who are His enemies God’s plans remain concealed
Declaring from the start what will happen at the end
Promising a kingdom to those He calls His friend

Man has had two thousand years to accept Jesus as their Lord
To those who will refuse their judgment is outpoured
No eye has ever seen and no ear has ever heard
The things God has prepared for those who love Him and His Word

Daniel 12:9–10 – “ He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.”

Amos 3:7 – “Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.”

Isaiah 46:9–10 – “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. 10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’”

1 Corinthians 2:6–16

Beyond All Expectations

A love that’s inescapable, a love that is so rare
The kind of love God has for us, nothing can compare
There’s nothing we can do to earn it, so don’t even try
His searching heart waits for our love that we give in reply

The plans that He has made for us are something to behold
The gifts and opportunities He gives are manifold
Reach out in faith and claim them in accordance with His will
Beyond all expectations, your dreams He will fulfill

This I write, because I know, and can testify
God’s love exceeds all expectations and can satisfy
He waits for your response to this so He can manifest
A love that’s inescapable, a love that wants your best

Psalm 37:4–6 – “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.”

Psalm 37
