You Are the Clay

Me:
The reason we were created from the earth’s damp clay
Placed on the spinning earth to be formed each day
In the Potter’s hands we were fashioned with a plan
God designed His creations before the world began

He did this with a love that we cannot understand
Giving each a design by His loving master hand
His breath entered each vessel to become a living soul
Created in His image-each one is beautiful

Lord:
Don’t say to your Maker, “Why did you make me this way? “
I am the Potter and you are the clay
Each one I have created has great purpose to Me
I have given you a free will to choose your destiny

If you study My Word, I’ll show you the right way
To stay on this road, remember to always obey
It doesn’t matter what you were, but what you will ultimately be
You must turn away from your sins and follow all My decrees

Isaiah 64:8 – “Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”

Jeremiah 18:3-6 – “So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. 4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
5 Then the word of the LORD came to me. 6 He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the LORD. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.

Romans 9:20-21 – “But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’ 21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?”

Rule in Your Domain

Because of your light you are children of the day
Those who walk in darkness are the ones who don’t obey
If your light does not shine, darkness will reign
You have My authority to rule in your domain

Use My Word as a sword to cut through the long night
Its brilliance will flash to give you clear sight
In the Name of My Son, ask of Me great things
Lives you will change in the victory it brings

Mention often the blood of My dear Son
Because of His victory, the demons will run
You have My authority to rule in your domain
If your light does not shine, darkness will reign

Matthew 5:14-16 – “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

John 1:1-5 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

Ephesians 6:17 – “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Hebrews 4:12-13 – “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

I Delight to do Your Will

I delight to do Your will, oh God, Lord Most High
Not to do the minimum just to get by
If I look around, I see blessings everywhere
Hidden in the ordinary put by You there

Holy, are You Lord, unending is Your worth
Your majesty and glory cover the whole earth
You created all things in beauty and in love
Setting man apart, You called him, “My beloved”

You are coming back for Your bride dressed in white
She has been made ready and You are her delight
Holy and blameless, she delights to do Your will
Together, forever to dwell on Your holy hill

Revelation 19:7-8 – “Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. 8 Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear. (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)”

Ephesians 5:25-27 – “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.”

Our Heart’s Attitude

Hidden deep inside, thoughts unspoken die unborn
What the heart is full of will our minds adorn
A good man brings out good things to our great delight
An evil man brings evil things out of his dark night

Even a fool is thought wise if he doesn’t speak
Men will give account to God, their words He will critique
By our talk, we’ll be judged on that fateful day
Did God’s Word direct our life and did we then obey?

Oh, that we might listen as we seek God’s face
It would be the difference of wisdom or disgrace
God has much to say to us, will we be still to hear?
Humbling our heart’s attitude will make His Words more clear

Matthew 12:34-37 – “You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. 35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Proverbs 17:28 – “Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.”

Proverbs 17:3 – “The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tests the heart.”

Ways of the Lord

The mysterious ways of the Lord are not our ways
It is by following them, that one will prolong their days
When you trust in the Lord and let Him always lead
The plans that God gives to you will always succeed

Do you want to win favor and a virtuous name?
Do everything for God’s glory and His matchless fame
Always acknowledge Him and He will direct your path
Wisdom will then guide you along life’s rocky footpath

Those who leave straight roads to walk in dark ways
Will eternally regret it for all of their Sonless days
Those selfish routes lead to death and is the path of the lost
None who go that way will return–count the cost

The mysterious ways of the Lord are not our ways
Great rewards wait for those who determine to obey
There are things more valuable than silver or than gold
That would be the approval of God when His face we behold

Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Proverbs 2:12-15 – “Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, 13 who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, 14 who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, 15 whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.”

What I Desire

Holiness becomes you it makes My heart beat fast
Many are the beautiful, but you have far surpassed
When you turn your gaze to Me, I melt soft as butter
I’m captivated by your hair as the soft breeze makes it flutter

I desire obedience, it proves your love for Me
Purity and reverence adorn those who are holy
A soft and gentle spirit is what I desire
Always to be faithful is what I require

Fleeting is an earthly beauty as it fades away
Those who walk in holiness will My grace display
Darkness then will scatter as you follow Me
Humility and love will your adornment be

Quest Most Holy

Me:
Come, let us go to the mountain of the Lord
Only He is worthy to be worshiped and adored
Who may ascend to this most holy place?
Those with a pure heart who are seeking His face

Lord:
Delights you will find there that can’t be compared
A place never ending that is made to be shared
You have access now come let Me show you around
Take off your shoes for you are on holy ground

This quest most holy will never come to an end
Delights forever, you can’t even comprehend
Lift up your head and enter My gates
Life never ending is the path that awaits

Psalm 24:3-6 – “Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. 5 They will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God their Savior. 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob.”

Joshua 5:13-15 – “Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, ‘Are you for us or for our enemies?’
14 ‘Neither,’ he replied, ‘but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.’ Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, ‘What message does my Lord have for his servant?’
15 The commander of the LORD’s army replied, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.’ And Joshua did so.”

Get Ready to Fly

It’s the end of the story, but not of the book
A new chapter is starting with a different outlook
Our group meeting had been a place to prepare us
Like a butterfly set free on a path most adventurous

What had taken place while we were in the cocoon?
Our wings had been forming for a time opportune
Spread out your wings as the wind starts to blow
You are not earthbound, in faith, you must follow

Get ready to fly, the course has been set
The land is before you and the conditions are met
With prayer as your guide aim for the harvest ahead
Don’t be afraid of giants, for they are your bread

Psalm 139:7-10 (NKJV) – “Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.”

Isaiah 40:30-31 (NKJV) – “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Luke 10:2 (NKJV) – “Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Planting a Harvest

A heart that is willing, a heart that is true
Might lead someone to say that they love you
How can one know that love dwells there?
Unless it is seen by actions that declare

Examine your heart in the stillness of night
Does it beat with God’s love in the harsh daylight?
If you follow the way that love will lead
It will send you to those who live in great need

Has not God chosen those who are poor
To be rich in faith and love forevermore?
When you live by faith and show it with deeds
You are planting a harvest that yields many seeds

This Prodigal

I heard Your voice calling me, sweet and low
“Where have you been? I have missed you so!”
I am so sorry Lord, I’ve been too busy
The things of this world have me in a tizzy

Sometimes I forget I am only visiting here
Your voice grows very faint and not so clear
The things of this world have distracted me much
I want to seek Your face to get back in touch

Let the spinning earth stop so I can get off
I’m done with eating out of the pig’s trough
This prodigal is running back to Your embrace
In response to Your love, mercy, and grace

Luke 15:16-20 – “So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.”
17 “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father.
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.”
