Do not I search the heart and see what is there? What can you hide and think I am not aware? With your mouth you say one thing but then do not do You are double minded with a heart that’s askew You say that you love Me but then don’t obey You read My Word but don’t believe what I say Draw near to Me and I will draw near to you I will oppose the proud, but will the humble pursue Those whom I love I rebuke and correct Therefore, repent and your attitude inspect If you have a divided heart, you are caught in a snare You can be set free by repentance and prayer Debbie Furey January 16, 2023 James 3:9–12 – “With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.” Ezekiel 11:19-20 – “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. 20 Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.” Psalm 86:11 – “Teach me your way, LORD, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” Revelation 2:23 – “Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.” James 1:22–27, 2:1–24, 3:13–18, 4:1–6 Revelation 2:1-7, 3:1–6, 3:14–22

Lead Me in the Way
Holy Spirit lead me in the way that I should go I set my heart on things above where grace and mercy flow It is there that I will find help in time of need Christ on high, is seated there, to ever intercede I set my mind on things above, not on earthly things Released are peace and wisdom that the Holy Spirit brings Let Your Word act as a filter so that I may see Deceptions, lies and attacks brought by the enemy Holy Spirit lead the way to Your holy hill For the glory of the Lord His perfect law fulfill Clothed with every virtue so Christ is seen in me Then the world will see true love and perfect unity Debbie Furey January 12, 2022 Colossians 3:1 – “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” John 13:34–35 – “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Colossians 3:1–17 John 17
Past Promises
Sometimes I am too busy to listen for Your voice Your Spirit is watching as I weigh each daily choice Will I ask You for direction or go my willful way? I need to take the time to listen and quickly obey Standing on past promises You whispered in my ear In faith I wait for Your fulfillment as the time draws near I choose not to make them happen in my time and will I trust You know the way for Your promise to fulfill My heart knows You are faithful and will Your promise keep Though the wait is painful and causes me to weep I choose to trust You, Your promises to hold When You are done testing me, I will come forth as gold Debbie Furey November 18, 2021 Hebrews 11:11-12 – “And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise. 12 And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.” Job 23:10 – “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.” Genesis 15, 16, 17 Has there been times in the past where you thought you knew God’s will? Did you feel deep inside that God had spoken to you about a matter you cared very deeply about? Did you feel confident that God would answer your prayer? How tempted were you to take matters into your own hands when God didn’t fulfill it in the time that you thought it should be? Abraham and Sarah also felt that God had made a promise to them, that they would have a son together. When it didn’t happen in their time, they took matters into their own hands. Their disobedience produced a son by another woman. This decision had eternal consequences. God was still true to His Word. Because God was faithful, He still gave them their promised son. Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness.
Draw Close
Me: What’s wrong with me, Lord, what is the heart of the matter? It’s hard to hear Your voice amongst all the clatter I have not sought Your Presence or heard Your sweet voice With my eyes on the world, I’ve not made the best choice Lord: Draw close to Me and I will draw close to you My Spirit drops down like the precious morning dew You can’t see Me coming but I am there nonetheless Waiting to hear the sound of your heart acquiesce You can’t hear Me clearly until you’re quiet and still I am always speaking but you have a free will Will you draw close or seek the world’s bright lights? Return My love and make Me your chief delight Debbie Furey August 27, 2021 1 John 2:15-17 – “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” James 4:8 (NKJV) – “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” 1 John 3 Revelation 2:1-7 Acquiesce is not a word I use. I had to look up the definition. It means give consent by keeping silent, to submit quietly. What an awesome privilege that the God of the universe desires our attention and love! On every page of the Bible, the Lord invites us to draw close to Him and get to know Him. What is your response? Will you still your heart and mind enough to hear His voice?
Holy Hands
Lord, I lift up my hands in surrender to Your will As I wait in Your Presence-quiet, listening, still My hands are lifted up, but my heart is bowing down I’m aware I’m in the Presence of a King of great renown My hands are lifted up to receive descending grace It’s funneled to my heart so worldly thoughts can be displaced Fill me with Your Spirit and Your holy fire My renewed mind is set on what Your Spirit desires I invite You, Lord, to search my sinful heart A surrendered posture is where I need to start All my selfish ways uncover, so my eyes can see The love of God for everyone so I can love like Thee Debbie Furey July 29, 2021 1 Timothy 2:8 – “Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.” Romans 8:5 – “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” Romans 8:1–17 As I was praying this morning, I asked the Lord what was on His heart. The words, “Holy hands,” appeared in my mind. So, I wrote it down. Then I asked the Lord, “What about holy hands?” In my mind I heard, “What does My Word say about holy hands?” So, I looked up that phrase and found it in 1Timothy. Holy hands are connected to a surrendered heart. Could that be why so many people find it hard to lift their hands in worship?
Pointing the Finger
When you point out others sins to Me Notice, pointing back to you are three Look instead at your own heart Lurking there the same sins start Your fallen nature fights for control Over your own heart you must have the rule You cannot do this in your own power The enemy waits for a soul to devour I, the Lord, search your heart every day Follow the Spirit to know My way Great rewards are waiting for those Who followed Me, and My ways chose Debbie Furey July 26, 2021 Jeremiah 17:9–10 – “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? 10 “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” Mark 7:20–23 – He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.” Matthew 7:1–5
Search My Heart
Lord, shine Your lamp in me, to light the darkest place Only those with a pure heart will stand before Your face Who may ascend the hill on which Your glory dwells? Those who seek Your ways, and reject the paths of hell No one lights a lamp and then hides it in a jar They put it on a stand so it can be seen from afar There is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed God sends forth His light so all can be exposed Search my heart, O God, with Your holy light When the testing comes may I be found shining in the night A burning lamp that leads the way, to Your holy hill If I follow carefully, my destiny I’ll fulfill Debbie Furey July 2, 2021 Psalm 24:3–4 – “Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? 4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.” Psalm 139:23-24 – “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Jeremiah 17:9-10 – “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? 10 “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.” Luke 11:33–36 Luke 8:16-18 2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” God dwells in dimensions we know nothing about. When He looks at a person, He does not just see the outward form but can see into the soul and spirit of a person. God does not judge by outward appearance but by what is in each person’s heart. Even we cannot truly know what is in our own heart because it is deceitful. That is why we need to ask the Lord to search our hearts and to reveal to us the things that are hidden deep inside. God allows things to happen to us that reveals what we might not be aware of. Then we can deal with what He shows us. He is looking for our response
Sound of Rain
I hear the sound of an abundance of rain The Holy Spirit is moving over the earth again The book of Acts will resume over all the earth Until everyone has heard of the sinner’s rebirth God’s Spirit will move with miracles and signs Accompanied with healings of bodies and minds The light of God’s glory will be seen by all Driving out darkness, on His church it will fall This sound of rain can’t be heard by the ear It comes from God’s Spirit beckoning us near Its purpose is to water the earth with God’s glory Saving souls and reclaiming man’s territory Debbie Furey June 20, 2022 Isaiah 60:1–3 – “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. 2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.” 1 Kings 18:30-45 Isaiah 60 John 7:37-39 Do you hear the sound of the rain beginning?
Army Rising
Oh, Lord, I hear You calling, calling Your grace and mercy falling, falling I strain to hear throughout the night When darkness tries to hide Your light Those dwelling in the land of sorrow Receive God’s light on the wings of morrow As Your Word dawns across our land Your army rises to take a stand Dressed in armor shining bright Brandishing weapons for the fight Shrinking not from battle’s roar Earths dark places to restore Your army rising like the sun Over sin and death, we’ll overcome The wicked will be trampled down For Your great glory and renown Debbie Furey November 4, 2021 Judges 3:1–2 – “These are the nations the LORD left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan 2 (he did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience)” Romans 8:28–39 Isaiah 60 Malachi 4 Christian, do you hear the Lord calling you? Do you know that our enemy has declared war on us? Do you know that the Lord has equipped us for battle? Do you know He is teaching us to overcome? You should know these things. It’s in the Word of God.
Those Who Endure
Those who endure to the end will be saved Whispers the One whose hands are engraved There is a reason this life is so hard It’s a test to see whose ways you regard Some will fall short and lose their reward Which way did you choose in times of discord? Was love your aim to the unlovely and lost? No matter the time, no matter the cost Your actions speak louder than the words that you say The test results show your love on full display Hold on till the end so they don’t take your crown I am coming for a bride in a spotless gown Debbie Furey July 5, 2021 Matthew 10:22 – “ You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Isaiah 49:16 – “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.” Ephesians 5:25–27 – “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” Revelation 3:7-12 Everything we do on this earth will matter for all of eternity. God will weigh every thought, word and action. When things get hard in my life, I find it helpful to remind myself, this is only a test.
