Live in the Moment

My name is” I Am,” not “I Was,” or “I Will Be”
Each day is a time to draw closer to Me
Live in the moment, not in the future or past
You’re not promised tomorrow, earthly things will not last

This life is a test, will you get to know My ways?
Will disobedience rule the rest of your days?
Hear My voice proclaim your heavenly calling
My Spirit is wooing, My Spirit is drawing

Come to Me, come to Me, hear My heart’s plea
This day choose life, I have come to set you free
Your past cannot hold you, your future awaits
Follow Me to the way that leads to heaven’s gates

Hebrews 3:7-10 – “So, as the Holy Spirit says: ‘Today, if you hear his voice, 8do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, 9 where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. 10 That is why I was angry with that generation; I said,’ ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’”
Galatians 5:13-18 – “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.”

You Must Die Daily

Resurrection life only comes after a death
When the enemy has come to steal our last breath
He thinks he has won and will see us no more
You must die daily to find life evermore

The message of the cross is foolishness to those
Who live only for this world and My Word they oppose
Our flesh dies hard and will let out a roar
You must die daily to find life evermore

Our present sufferings will not compare
If we die to this world, Christ’s glory we’ll share
Leaving this earth in new bodies, we will soar
You must die daily to find life evermore

Luke 9:23-26 – “Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.”

1 Corinthians 1:18 – “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

Romans 8:12-13 – “Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”

The Treasure God Gives

Treasure wouldn’t be treasure unless it was hard to find
It brings one much pleasure to have what is cherished by mankind

What is your greatest prize you hold dear upon this earth?
What would you sacrifice for an item of great worth?

Nothing can compare to the treasure that God is
He’s as close as a prayer, He shares with us what is His

God loves mankind so, that He gave His only Son
Jesus paid the price we owe-sin’s penalty is undone

The treasure God gives will not rot or fade
He died and now lives inside us displayed

2 Corinthians 4:7-11 – “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. 12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.”

Matthew 6:19-21 – “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

1 Timothy 6:17-19 – “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.”

Wake with My Likeness

Me:
When life looks the bleakest and the sun doesn’t shine
When dark colors are weaved into our destiny’s design
Know we are given a chance to prove God is true
You must stand on His Word and let faith come into view

This life is a test to prove God’s Word strong
Will we believe or go along with the throng?
God’s way is narrow and not easy to take
When we put aside self and our sins forsake

Lord:
Yes, it is true that this life is a test
Will you prove faithful at the end of the quest?
There is a prize and a crown to be won
Will you wake with My likeness when day is done?

Ephesians 6:13 – “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

Acts 20:23-24 – “I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. 24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”

2 Timothy 4:6-8 – “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

A Life of Courage

A life of courage is more caught than taught
It starts with a love that can’t be faked or bought
This life might hold suffering, grief, and much pain
For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain

This kind of love I can’t produce on my own
You freely release it from Your mercy throne
A love most holy from heaven will descend
Its overflow to others I pledge to extend

This is my prayer that my love freely abounds
Then I will rescue those trapped in sins bounds
This will take courage to stand firm and contend
A crown is for those who will love till the end

Chasing After Wind

Pursuing only pleasure is like chasing after wind
It’s a sign you are carnal and undisciplined
Life is not meaningless, it is a testing ground
Eternity before you, heaven or hell bound?

I am always calling, but many do not hear
Their god is this world and Me they do not fear
Some regard My Words with disdain and ridicule
Stiff-necked and proud they are stubborn as a mule

I ask you to buy from Me gold refined in fire
Read My Word daily to see what I require
Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline
This will prove your love and faith to be genuine

Ecclesiastes 2:1 – “I said to myself, ‘Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good.’ But that also proved to be meaningless.”

Ecclesiastes 2:10-11 – “I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure.
My heart took delight in all my labor, and this was the reward for all my toil. 11 Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.”

Luke 8:14-15 – “The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”

Malachi 3:5 – “So I will come to put you on trial. I will be quick to testify against sorcerers, adulterers and perjurers, against those who defraud laborers of their wages, who oppress the widows and the fatherless, and deprive the foreigners among you of justice, but do not fear me,” says the LORD Almighty.”

Under the Sun

Beauty fades as you age like the flowers in a field
It is in My wisdom for selfish pride to yield
Eyes of understanding, open wide, then to see
Most of your years you have lived in vanity

Like the grass in the field your time on earth is short
You were made for a purpose and will give a full report
Every work will be judged whether good or whether bad
The years I ordain you cannot subtract or add

What will you say when your time on earth is done?
Have you lived for Me in your time under the sun?
The one who pleases Me is the one who will endure
Those who seek wisdom will escape sin’s allure

To the one who loves Me untold treasures you’ll find
When I call you home, earthly wealth is left behind
Reflect Me to be holy and disciplined
Life can be meaningless if you chase after the wind

Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 NKJV – “Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes;
But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment. 10 Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh, for childhood and youth are vanity.”

Isaiah 40:6-8 – “A voice says, ‘Cry out.’ And I said, ‘What shall I cry?’ ‘All people are like grass, and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field. 7 The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.’”

Ecclesiastes 8:16-17 – “When I applied my mind to know wisdom and to observe the labor that is done on earth—people getting no sleep day or night— 17 then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all their efforts to search it out, no one can discover its meaning. Even if the wise claim they know, they cannot really comprehend it.”

Ecclesiastes 2:26 – “To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

Ecclesiastes 8, 12

Just As I Am

Just as I am now, I will not always be
You’re changing me into Your likeness and glory
It is through trials I am tested by fire
To be like You is my fervent desire

Just as I am now, You still love me so
Seeing me as I will be, You help me to grow
You are working in me to accomplish Your will
To know Your purposes, and my destiny fulfil

Just as I am I surrender to You
In the timeless past my thoughts You foreknew
Search my heart and judge any offensive ways
I purpose to follow You for all of my days

Know My Will

It is not that hard to know My will
Draw close and ask, as you are waiting and still
From the beginning, I make known the end
On the scriptures you can rely and depend

Plant My Word deep in the soil of your heart
As it sprouts, roots of faith will soon start
Then you will know the way you should go
The light of My Son will cause faith to grow

I am God, and there is none like Me
My purpose will stand throughout eternity
Know My will and become part of My plan
Your destiny was decided before the world began

Night Will Soon Come

To be children of the day, you must shun the night
Those who dwell in darkness run from the light
The blackest of black is reserved for those
Who despise Me-and My ways they oppose

Darkness exists because the light has gone out
The pleasures of this life have turned faith into doubt
Selfishness and greed have replaced love for each other
You must care for and forgive one another

Do My works now for the night is encroaching
Reflect Me as you see My glory approaching
The night will soon come when no one can work
It is in deepest darkness that wickedness lurks

Jude 1:12-13 – “These people are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves.
