Great are Thy works, and Thy thoughts are so deep

What seemed gain to me, I now count as loss
When I behold the image of the One upon the cross
To be found in Him, through the precious blood He shed
So I might attain the resurrection of the dead

That I might know Him is Heaven’s greatest call
The power of His rising, reverses Adam’s fall
Nothing I have done, could earn me heaven’s favor
My only righteousness is found in my dear Savior

How could it be possible to own this greatest treasure?
That we can have a part, of a God we cannot measure
Being found in Him, and in His sufferings share

I am in the Potter’s hands until Christ is formed in me
It is a painful process, using much proficiency
With the skill of a surgeon, many cuts and strokes are made
Making room for many gems and colors to be inlaid

After the Potter’s work is done, He heats the furnace high
There the soft clay is transformed into a vessel hard and dry
Each work of art is for a purpose only He can know
Into each, a piece of His glory, He will then bestow

A vessel formed to show His glory is His main desire
For His purpose and His honor, purified by fire
I’ll put on grace and love, then add a cloak of humility
Dressed in His righteousness until, Christ is seen in me

Romans 9:21-24 – “Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?

God led them forty years in the desert as a test

There is a regular eye and a jealous eye
The green eye tries to hide because it can’t explain why
Defiling the soul and darkening the mind
Truth is cast aside as reason becomes blind

A jealous spirit binds and takes captive of those

Increased misery comes back on them instead
As they are a led away with a feeling of much dread

Repent and be grateful for all you’ve been given

Proverbs 27:4 – “Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?”

1 Corinthians 3:3 – “You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?”

As I was reading first Samuel 18:9, it mentioned that Saul kept a jealous eye on David. I wondered to myself could there be jealousy showing out of one’s eyes? Then I thought back to different instances where I felt someone’s jealousy being displayed and it showed up in their eyes. It is said that the eyes are a window of the soul. Sometimes there are blinds on windows and you can’t always see in, but sometimes you can see things that are in people’s eyes when blinds are removed. You can see love, kindness, happiness in people’s eyes as well as bad things like hatred, deception, lust and yes, jealousy. 

Me:
Help me judge my own heart is my heartfelt cry
I find it hard to live for You and to my own self die
It is only by Your Spirit, I can live that way
As I seek Your Presence, I find it easy to obey

Lord:
Keep your heart fixed on Me, I’ll give you power to stand
My ways are far above your ways you must understand
The secret of a holy life, is to do My will
You’ll only come to know this when you’re with Me quiet, still

Bow your heart before Me in humility and fear
When you are obedient, wisdom’s voice you’ll clearly hear
Those who are led by My Spirit, truly are My son
I in you and you in Me, makes us wholly one

Romans 8:12–14 – “Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”
Proverbs 9:10 – “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Romans 8

Life is full of choices. Will I live by the Spirit or will I live by my fleshy desires? We have to make a choice and must live with the consequences. It is a choice we have to make every day, to follow the Lord. When we fix our eyes upon Him it becomes much easier to hear His voice.

Me:
Lord, You deserve a bride who is passionate about You
One who is holy and possesses great virtue
Getting ready for the new home she will soon occupy
Preparing a gown that will enhance and beautify

Lord:
I am coming for a bride who is holy and pure
One who overcomes the evil day and will endure
She will be without sin dressed in pure white gown
Her acts and beauty will bring her great renown

She will rise with My glory like the bright morning star
Bringing hope and life to the downcast near and far
Out of great darkness her light will be seen
In training, for reigning, as My new bride and queen

To those who overcome and do My will to the end
Are the ones who love Me and will be known as My friend
They will be proved worthy to reign by My side
Together, forever, is My promise to My bride

2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.”

Lord:
Every new day begins with a fresh start
Choices to make when old ways you depart
Bad patterns and habits to leave far behind
Each new day begins with hope for mankind

Me:
Lord, great are Your mercies, they are new every day
Because of Your love You have prepared a new way
The portion You offer is new life in You
Your faithfulness rains down with each morning’s dew

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him
His grace and mercy fill my cup to the brim

Me:
Your ways, oh Lord, are so far above our ways

You were made in My image and by My own hand

Your time on earth is only a short season

Seek out My Presence and learn how to love

Mark 10:29–31 – “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

John 14:23-24 – “Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.”

Hebrews 11:8-16

When you begin to live your life by faith in God and what He says in His Word, you start to see things differently. In light of eternity, we are only on this earth for a short time. There is a purpose in everything we do and everything that happens to us. When we see and understand that God uses everything for our good to those who love Him, we can live a victorious and purposeful life. Our true home is not this earth but the one we will dwell in throughout eternity.
Therefore, we should set our affections on God and make our decisions based on this fact. Is what we are doing or planning for our glory or for God’s glory?
