The Humble I Pursue

You’ll become blind when you begin to move in pride
Stepping into self-seeking begins the backslide
When you advance in vanity, there’s no armor behind
From the rear, you will get ambushed because you are blind

When you remain humble you can hear My voice
If you remove that-you become deaf by choice
My message must then be given through your enemy
This will cause you to bow low to receive humility

You cannot be embarrassed if you are truely humble
When you walk in pride, it will cause you to stumble
Therefore, fear Me, then you will not fear what man can do
I am far from the proud, but the humble I pursue

Proverbs 15:33 – “Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the LORD, and humility comes before honor.”

James 4:6-10 – “But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.’
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”

Luke 14:11 – “For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Proverbs 15:24-33
Deuteronomy 8

Treasure in Heaven

Naked comes a man from his mother’s womb
As he comes naked, likewise he departs from his tomb
He takes nothing from here he can hold in his hand
He cannot make a bargain or a strong demand

Yet, there is much treasure in heaven you can store
Wealth that is so great, it will last forevermore
Things you have earned here can be given away
Then taken up to heaven and put on full display

This treasure will be waiting, for you on that day
It will be untouched by rust and moths, or earthly decay
It will testify of love-too great to ignore
You will see it waiting when you open heaven’s door

When you leave this life, you’ll then understand
Everything you had, has come from My hand
Naked comes a man from his mother’s womb
As he comes naked, likewise he departs from his tomb

What wealth will you send to heaven brought on angel’s wing?
If you live your life for Me much treasure you will bring
It requires your death down here to things of earthly worth
So you can be raised again into a second birth

Matthew 6:19-21 – “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Matthew 19:20-21 – “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

I Named Every Star

Twinkle, twinkle, little star I know who you are
In the beginning of creation, I named every star
The heavens declare My glory as does every light
My people shine just like the stars with My glory bright

These stars they tell a story, of My faithful ones
They shine with the brilliance of My Beloved Son
Reflecting back His glory so others will be drawn
Piercing through the darkness known as sons of the dawn

When I named the stars, I showed each one their place
In the outer regions of deepest, darkest space
There they shine for Me to display My glory
Their placement has a purpose in creation’s story

Those who are wise will shine, to show others My way
In the darkest night until the coming “Day”
Then you will shine like stars with a story to tell
Leading men with your light from the darkness of hell

Genesis 1:14-15 NKJV – “Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth’; and it was so.”

Psalm 147:4 NKJV – “He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.”

Isaiah 40: 25-26 NKJV – “To whom then will you liken Me, or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One. 26 “Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things, who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power; not one is missing.”

Daniel 12:3 – “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”

Philippians 2:14-16 – “Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16 as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.”

Garden of Your Soul

Garden of Your Soul

The water of My Word brings life to your thirsting soul
Collecting in your heart to form a reflecting pool
I bid you come and look-into its waters deep
Many mysteries are hidden there I want you to reap

A garden forms around this pool watering its roots
Feeding many flowers that are changing into fruits
There I want to meet with you to exchange our love
Sharing many secrets from My Kingdom up above

My Father also tends to the garden of your soul
Weeding and pruning there to make it beautiful
He desires much fruit-in His garden He delights
Appearing as a dove the Holy Spirit then alights

Will you come and meet with Us in the garden by the pool?
Beside the quiet waters We’ll restore your soul
You will fear no evil as long as you’re with Us
Over all your enemies you will be victorious

Psalm 23:1-3 NKJV – “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”

Joy Set Before Us

When you pray for something, it is because you sense a lack
There is an opening in your armor where the enemy can attack
Is it patience, joy or self-control that you need more of?
Crucify the sinful nature, replace with Jesus’ love

Humbly go before Him, grace and mercy will surround
When you ask for wisdom, His answer will astound
Each situation in your life is designed to help you grow
Becoming Christ-like is more important than you know

For the joy set before Him, Jesus endured much pain
When we look through eyes of faith, we must not complain
This same joy is set before us, will we then believe?
It is by dying to self that we are open to receive

Hebrews 12:1-3 – “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

Download Love

Download love into my heart, so I can share with others
I want to see them as You do–my sisters and my brothers
It’s always been my goal to love, but feelings aren’t always there
Some people make it just so hard to make me want to care

The enemy tries to sow discord, to get my mind infected
Help me to use these circumstances as a place where my love’s perfected
Anger leads to murder, but You want us to die to self
It is in giving that we receive, so much more than wealth

I know this in my mind, but I want it to live in my heart
By being in Your Presence, this grace You do impart
Download Your love into my soul, so there is enough to give away
Then others will know You live in me, by smelling love’s bouquet

2 Corinthians 3:18 – “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

2 Corinthians 2:14-16 – “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. 15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to such a task?”

Forever Truth Will Reign

Do not gaze upon the darkness, lest it consumes you within
Its enticement brings strong desire, which can cause you to sin
Strong are the claws that it uses, to snatch souls unaware
It fishes with curiosity as its lure-wisdom calls out, “beware”

Sin opens the door to evil, but repentance will shut the door
“Be sure you do not open it again,” My Spirit earnestly implores
The ear hears with curiosity but with obedience the heart will listen
Those who are overcomers, with a new name I will christen

The one who will gaze intently at My perfect law and obeys
Is the one I will dwell with when night turns to eternal day
Darkness will be swallowed by victory, forever truth will reign
Then you will know that your labor in the Lord, has not been in vain

1 Corinthians 15:54-58 – “When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Pursue Love

Learn from the mistakes of others, so you don’t go that way
If you heed the warnings in My Word, your soul won’t go astray
Sin’s allure can blind, even the most steadfast hearts
Pride opens up a door to lies that the enemy imparts

Only by staying close to Me, can you hear Wisdom calling
“Come closer, listen, learn; I can keep you from falling”
Daily ask for Wisdom, so you can choose the fear of the Lord
Renew your mind in My Word, so our thoughts will be in one accord

I want to witness to the world-the greatest achievement is love
If you pursue this virtue, you will be fit for My courts above
Those who have learned to love, will be called, “the greatest,” up there
Wisdom is not only hearing but also showing that you care

Enoch Walked With God

Enoch walked with God, His Presence he pursued
His mortal frame was weak, but his spirit was renewed
He went on many journeys while he lived upon the earth
God showed him many things of value and great worth

Enoch sought God’s Presence, every day, for 300 years
As he walked one day with God, he just disappears
When Enoch’s life was ended, he did not experience death
He could not be found-across the earth’s great breadth

Enoch’s life was blessed with many sons and daughters
His descendant, Noah, rescued life upon the waters
A righteous life lives on, even after we are taken
If we walk with God, we will not be shaken

Psalm 16:5-8 – “LORD, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely, I have a delightful inheritance. 7 I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. 8 I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”

My True Abode

Me:
Teach me by Your Spirit, let me hear Your voice
So many paths before me, which one is Your choice?
Not just looking for Your blessing, traveling this narrow road
I’m searching for Your Presence, to make my true abode

So that I may know You, teach me all Your ways
Oh, that I may find Your favor all my earthly days

Lord:
“My Presence will go with you; I will give you rest
Even when the road is rocky, realize it’s just a test”

“Know that I am pleased with you-I call you by your name
My Spirit saw your tender heart-and when I called-you came
There is a place, near to My heart, a Rock on which to stand
You’ll see My Glory passing by, as you’re hidden in My hand”
