In the land of the living, I will lift up my praise
I will trust in Your goodness for all of my days
The enemy pursues me with darkness and dread
My heart is dismayed, like those sinners long dead
For no one is righteous no not even one
All my hope rests on what You have done
You sent Your Son to pay my debt on the cross
So that I may live and not suffer sin’s loss
Morning brings me word of Your unfailing love
New mercies drift down from Your storehouse above
Great is Your faithfulness to those who trust in You
It covers the earth like early morning’s dew
I’ll examine my ways and return to the Lord
He waits with great mercies to be outpoured
Worthy are You Lord, to receive all my praise
I will trust in Your goodness for all my days

Psalm 143:3-5 – “The enemy pursues me he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in the darkness like those long dead. 4 So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed. 5 I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.”
Psalm 143:8-9 – “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. 9 Rescue me from my enemies, LORD, for I hide myself in you.”
Lamentations 3:22-26 – “Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore, I will wait for him.” 25 The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; 26 it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.”
Lamentations 3:31-33 – “For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. 32 Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. 33 For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone.”
Psalm 143

This Time of Waiting
If I knew that You would act, I would surely pray
Discouragement sets in often-when there is delay
That is when my faith should rise, and in Your Word believe
That is what it takes to ask and from Your hand receive
Nothing is too hard for You that I surely know
Why does the answer to my prayer seem so slow?
Through this time of waiting, I draw close by Your side
It is in Your Presence I learn how to abide.
In this time of waiting, let me hear Your voice
Just to know You love me makes my heart rejoice
I will be obedient to the words I hear
As I humbly wait, I sense You drawing near

Psalm 27:13-14 – “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. 14 Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”
Psalm 40:1-4 – “I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him. 4 Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.”
Psalm 27, 40
Source of My Delight
I make You, Lord, the source of my delight
Flood my soul with Your heavenly light
Till all of my darkness has fled away
Replaced by Your love at the start of each day
The desire of my heart was promised to me
You then delivered so beautifully
I choose to worship You with profuse praise
As You lead and direct, I’ll follow Your ways
How can I thank You for all You have done?
Your mercy and grace have left me undone
Worthy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain
All of my days You did pre-ordain

Psalm 139:15-16 – “My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
Revelation 5:9-10 – “And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. 10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”

Burst of Life
Oh, to leave this life in a blaze of glory
What a thrilling ending to anyone’s life story
Just like the leaves on a tree in golden fall
Bursting with color – so beautiful
The tree might look dead in the cold winter’s snow
It might never bud again for all we know
But then comes the warmth one day in spring
Beauty so intense it makes us sing
One must die to self to really live
Our life will be measured by what we give
We might look dead in the grave on that day
With a burst of life, new bodies we’ll display

John 12:23-26 – “Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25 Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.”

Draw Them to Me
Lo, I am with you until the end of the world
The banner of My glory is about to be unfurled
My light shines brightest in the darkness of night
Drawing people to Me, whose hearts are contrite
Fragile pots of clay carry My glory within
They’ve been refined much in the fire of My kiln
Required are a pure heart and clean hands
To fulfill the law and love’s demands
Arise and shine with My glory so bright
To banish the darkness of the earth’s night
The glory of the Lord will shine from you
Draw them to Me, says the Faithful and True

Malachi 3:1-4 – “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the LORD Almighty.
2 But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, 4 and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the LORD, as in days gone by, as in former years.”
Isaiah 64:8 – “Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”
Isaiah 60:1-3 – “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”
Revelation 19:11 – “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.”

Tree of Discontent
On the tree of discontent
God’s fruit does not appear
Faces reflect embitterment
Changing the atmosphere
The fruit this tree produces
Can make one very ill
Selfishness seduces
To make demands most shrill
In everything give thanks
And show your gratitude
Always love outranks
With gentle attitude
God’s grace will transform
And make straight your path
To God’s Word, conform
To escape sin’s wrath

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – “Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Galatians 5:22-26 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.”

Know You More
Father in heaven, I want to know You more
That I may know Your will is what I implore
My mind is distracted, my ears are very dull
I desire to draw closer whatever may befall
I choose to make time to be quiet and still
So I can hear Your voice and know Your will
As I draw closer, You’ll need not shout loud
I’ll hear Your faint whisper in a large crowd
This is my heart’s quest–to know You more
Your still small voice I will not ignore
I’ll follow You, oh Shepherd of my soul
Till journeys end when I reach Heaven’s goal

John 10:25-30 – “Jesus answered, ‘I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.’”

I Choose Wisdom
I heard wisdom calling-strong, loud, and clear
The sound came from within not by my ear
“Yes,” I responded as I drew near
“I choose wisdom and will obey what I hear”
Not many heard her and quickly went by
They willingly ignored her and her loud cry
They left the straight path and chose the dark lie
They did not choose wisdom and chose to defy
I call out for God’s insight to understand
I will trust in the Lord, and on His Word stand
My will and my way I’ll not demand
I choose wisdom and what God has planned

Proverbs 8:1-8 – “Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? 2 At the highest point along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; 3 beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance, she cries aloud: 4 ‘To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. 5 You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it. 6 Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right. 7 My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness. 8 All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse.’”
Proverbs 8:32-36 – “Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways. 33 Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not disregard it. 34 Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. 35 For those who find me find life and receive favor from the LORD. 36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.”
Proverbs 1:20-23 – “Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square; 21 on top of the wall she cries out, at the city gate she makes her speech: 22 ‘How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? 23 Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you, my teachings.’”

Keep Watch
Me:
In the hush of the stillness in black of night
God’s glory shown around me so pure and so bright
I have been waiting, expectant to hear
My betrothed’s voice, so loving and dear
Lord:
Rise up, My beloved, and come with Me
Through the night shadows, I’ll help you to see
The harvest is ready and cannot wait
Storm clouds are gathering to decimate
The wise ones will rise and fill up their lamp
To light the way through the cold and the damp
Don’t be foolish and stay in your bed
I beg you to wake up–don’t be misled
It is at midnight the cry will ring out
“The bridegroom is coming,” will be the shout
Therefore, keep watch because you don’t know the hour
The day of My coming in glory and power

Psalm 139:11-12 – “If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” 12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.”
Song of Songs 2:10 – “My beloved spoke and said to me, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me.”
Matthew 25:1-6 – “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
6 At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’”

Quest of My Heart
Me:
The quest of my heart is to love You more
On the path of life there is much to explore
The journey will lead me all over the earth
My obedience to You is priceless in worth
Lord:
Those who love Me and follow to the end
Are those who are worthy and I count as a friend
The way may be hard and the way may be long
If you walk in love, you will sing heaven’s song
Let your quest align with the quest of My heart
Humility and love are the place you must start
I long to gather the lost to heaven’s door
So that all can be with Me forevermore
