Did you ever smell the lemon flower? Its fragrance is so sweet
However, the fruit of the lemon tree is not very pleasant to eat
The appearance of the lemon tree is beautiful to see
It’s fruit, a ball of sunshine most would surely agree

Did you ever see the face of a child, the first time a lemon he eats?
It surely causes one to laugh knowing there will be no repeats
The value of the lemon tree is in its distinctive flavor
When mixed with the right ingredients one can see why it’s found such favor

It is in the bitterness of life you look to God above
He is powerful to save-to those who trust in His mercy and love
The Lord will teach you many truths found in the lemons of life
Things you could not learn otherwise in a world where there is no strife

Bitterness of soul is one of the flavors you will experience on this earth
Throughout eternity it will be revealed of the fruit’s true value and worth
Learn the lesson of the lemon tree and strive to value its fruit
When you desire to be led by God’s Spirit, His fruit will be your passionate pursuit

I want to be a blessing and share God’s love with others
Those who are in Christ are my sisters and my brothers
Do not be deceived, you will reap what you sow
Will it be a harvest for the Lord, or our flesh, here below?

God chose us in Him to be blameless in His sight
Adopted through Christ Jesus for His great delight
In Him we have redemption through His blood and sacrifice
For all who will believe this, Jesus’ death will suffice

Let us love each other well and so fulfill the law
Look through the eyes of Christ-you’ll not see each other’s flaw
In Him we are made perfect by His blood and sacrifice
Together, forever, at His home in paradise
